There seems to be more and more footage these days of young rippers tearing it up. Brian Deegan's kid(s), the kid jumping the mega ramp at woodward, the kid doing that gigantic triple, Jackson Goldstone...

So I stumbled upon this kid on a PW and it made me think, let's get a thread together to show off your kid's skills. You spend all this time and money on them, why not show off how proud they make you?! Whether it's a trophy for participation, or some footage of them jumping a monster truck, every kid deserves some time in the limelight, so let's see what they can do!

Thats little Red Dog. Further proof the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. He also rides a bigger bike and was just goofing around on the PW.

I think it's all part of the video era. Kids watch these things and in their heads that's the starting point.

I think one of the coolest things about Ferry's kid whipping a PW is, the fact that you can look online for examples of "how to" whip a dirtbike with instructions coming from top level Pros to former pro's who are now trainers to just the average weekend warrior (probably about 1000 different videos of how to do it) - yet this one video in slow motion is probably one of the best videos someone could watch to show you how to whip a dirtbike. It took a 6 year old kid on a PW50....LOL

Seems like most kids go through the same progression of bikes. Might be interesting to see how everyones kids bike progressions went. My kids went like this,

KTM Pro Jr.
KX65
YZ85
CRF250

Daughter
PW50 (The same one)

TTR125 Big Wheel

Interesting observation,
My son who was more into racing spent more time on 2 strokes when he was young then eventually wound up on a 4 stroke.
My daughter who was more into trail riding spent more time on 4 strokes when she was young and eventually wound up on a 2 stroke.

Since we're on the subject, at what point does the Mom and Pop bike sponsorship end ? I want to keep riding with them, and they love to ride, but they're in their 20's now and in theory should be on their own, but there's no way they can afford a new bike, or even to maintain and repair the bikes they have, so for now I'm still sponsoring their riding 100%. I know for a fact if I don't keep and maintain their bikes they will fade away from the sport due to the costs. My daughter is on a 93 CR250 with steel sprockets and an o-ring chain, the thing runs for years with next to no maintenance and is as reliable as a clock, so that one is very cheap to keep and maintain. My sons 250f on the other hand.... Lets just say his next bike will be a $2,500' YZ250, that's where the sponsorship has to end. This industry needs cheap entry level bikes for the new generation (but that's a whole nuther subject) Ok back to the kids, sorry to wonder off topic a little Laughing

^^^ My dad gave me the current year KX250 that he bought for me to race that year for my 18th birthday. It's been all me ever since. Been buying my own gear for the most part since I was 12 or so. Of course he helped me out randomly along the way and still does when I ruin myself and can't work for months.

X100! My dad did get me a Rupp mini bike as a kid and a XR75, but after that I was on my own. They only thing he ever did was tell me "quit that before you get hurt". Umm you started it by getting me a mini bike, can't help it you don't like the racing....

I feel ya man. Mine are 26 and soon to be 24. If I didn't do the work on them they wouldn't be riding. Now to top it off I have a 7 year old grandson that I have already bought bikes for (crf 50 and KTM SR50), both new. I also had bought him a used Cobra. So it doesn't look like my sponsorship ends anytime soon. Just this past weekend my youngest son and grandson went racing. (grandson belongs to my oldest son). I shell out $200 cash just for entry to the track, class entry fees (2 classes each) plus gas for bikes and truck. This was a very close race to us. So gas was little in the factor.

Considering we do this at least a couple times a month, it's expensive as hell. But I love spending time with them and having some fun. It's only money I guess but I would like to lessen the burden some.
