What a great ride.
shows a lot of mental fortitude to bounce back in such a short period after some poor performances.

For pulling that win out, he didn’t even look happy. Dude looks drained.

Temperature was about 75 degrees and they were in the shade, low humidity, long flat straight... probably all helped him conserve a little energy.

That long run up the start straight definitely helped with his ability to catch his breath. But he looked worked on the podium.

I am so happy for Kenny and the whole HRC team. They needed this win badly for morale.

Pumped for him. I thought for sure he would fade around 10 min mark, then like the 13 min mark, glad he could go the distance.

Reluctantly crouched at the starting line
Engines pumping and thumping in time
The green light flashes, the flags go up
Churning and burning, they yearn for the cup
They deftly maneuver and muscle for rank
Fuel burning fast on an empty tank
Reckless and wild, they pour through the turns
Their prowess is potent and secretly stern
As they speed through the finish, the flags go down
The fans get up and they get out of town
The arena is empty except for one man
Still driving and striving as fast as he can

And appthe asthma is too....for today's race. I'm no medical professional but I know enough common sensical information to know that if he was just diagnosed with shingles a couple days ago he doesn't come back and have the strongest race he has in 2 weeks, he didnt fade at all. The races he went backwards in where where he was in traffic and/or battling with Eli and Cooper. He also mentioned more than a few times that they've gotten the bike much better as well and that sounds to me like he wanted to blame the bike but didn't for some reason.

I'm sorry but a race like he had tonight makes me even more skeptical about what hes been saying has been affecting him since he got to Utah and starting in November before the season but didn't rear its ugly head until 7 or 8 months later. Don't get me wrong I'm super pumped that he won tonight but hes straight up out of it as far as the championship is concerned. Eli would have to have the most epic meltdown since Damon Brad Shaw in order For Kenneth Or even Cooper for that matter to win the title. And in my opinion that won't ever be labeled as and history making come back as much as it will be labeled an epic meltdown by the series points leader.

Guess the asthma is gone too? It's a medical miracle!
Why is it that everybody seems so negative about people that are pointing out the obvious facts about what's going on here? I'm one of the biggest fans of Kenny there is but if you can't see that this is extremely odd and misleading and seemingly unrelated To how he performed tonight then I guess those of us are skeptical just must be jerks.
And y'all are gonna have to group RC in with the 3 of us that are commenting like this because hes just as baffled as to why this happens but has to hold back on the broadcast you can hear in his voice..... I can't believe only a few of us are raising an eyebrow over his performance since the salt Lake rounds started and we're getting trounced for pointing it out.

I’m a huge Kenny fan so I don’t want to say/think anything bad about him and what he said he has been going though.
But I can understand the scepticism..

I’m a Kenny fan, he’s been through a lot.
Buuuuuttttt, excuse after excuse when we as fans don’t even need it as he has nothing to prove to any of us at all is kind of weird considering he just had a medical miracle and beat asthma, shingles , covid, fever, uneven tire wear, poor fuel mileage, low voltage, and just about anything else this week.
Strong performance and keep up the good work but please , enough with the excuses man.

So many haters here, what a shame you cant give a rider the respect he deserves after beating the others straight up....but not shocking I suppose.

A lot of possible reasons already mentioned why he might not have suffered as much today. Add to them the fact that he passed Cooper early and didn't have to battle with anyone the rest of the race.

Then there's the fact that maybe he's just up and down with his ailments. And maybe the shingles aren't the underlying malady that has been affecting him for a while. Can you have shingles and some other ailment, for example?

Some people can't stand any hint of excuses, but I think Kenny is more of an open book and maybe even he doesn't know exactly what's going on.
