Cool thanks even with injuries he must still be one of the most wanted riders because of his talent. I know it won’t happen but would love to see him return to ktm under DeCoster one day.

Let’s say 2019 doesn’t go well, what happens when it’s time to sign a contract?

Resign or new team? I know it’s crazy talk. Lol.

Honda cant be happy with the amount of money invested for the amount of races raced by Kenny so far on Honda. Even if he is the most popular rider in the sport, they want results for the amount of money being spent. He needs results to stay at his current pay scale.

But then again their last 13 years of factory riders haven't lived up to their dominant standards from 1982-96 and the RC era of 02-04. It's crazy that Honda hasn't won a 450 title since RC outdoors in 2004.

Watch races from 2014 and you'll see him on a Red Bull KTM 450 with Decoster managing him. I'd love to see Roczen and HRC win a title.

If anyone is going to stand behind Roczen, its Honda. See Canard's career for a case study.

According to vital experts, results dont matter. Autograph lines, signing posters is better than racing.

I don’t see them dropping Ken after his current deal. There is no one on the horizon that will unseat him. The current guys winning are locked in with their current teams and the 250 guys graduating soon, need to show some more domination to get the #1 spot on Honda.

I could see some renegotiating on contract structure. Performance based compared to guaranteed money. That could change when he does well outdoors and in 2019 Supercross. Kenny puts in the work, so he will be back to speed soon. 27 days to Hangtown.

I think canard is a prime example of what they don’t want, they aren’t going to pay someone what he makes and resign him when every year theirs 250 riders moving up that don’t have gelo arms.

When will people give up on the antiquated way of thinking that results are the most important thing when it comes to marketing. . .

Sorry if I’m misunderstanding what you’re saying but if I’m not I dont think you can possibly believe Honda would rather have a long autograph line and big fan following. They don’t pay Kenny what he makes for him to sit at home injured and show up to sign autographs. They haven’t won a premier title since Ricky Carmichael, I can’t even imagine Roczen will have a ride with Honda if hes not in the outdoor and next seasons supercross title hunt.

X2, they hired him.to.race, win, and win titles Marketing is a part of the sport. If they just wanted autograph signers, they would pay him alot less. Honda wants their bike on the track.

They won a Motocross GP World Championship title in 2016, that's pretty "premier" if you asked me.

I hope Kenny will get the Outdoor Title this year, against all odds. Like you mentioned, I also don't think Honda is paying all that money for an autograph line in the pits. Wins sell bikes.

Yes Ken hasn't been at many races, but everybody wants a CRF450 since he dominated MEC 2016 and the first few rounds of 2017. Forsure he came back weaker in 2018, but that is made up for the fact everyone was talking about him non stop until he had to tell the media to be quiet. There is no doubt he had had enough attention on the bike. And he hasn't won a championship, so people still like him too.
