I want to point out one thing that Tek14 (and lots of GP fans) miss: The GPs are roughly equivalent to the AMA "regional" championship. You can make a case that the GP regulars may be faster on average right now, but it's not like the AMA title is equivalent to the British national championship or the Belgian national championship. Lots of riders from all over the world come to America to race in what was, for much of the last 35 years, the most prestigious race series in the world. Up until recently, the "World" champions were not as fast as our "Regional" champs.
And I like herlings
Roczen was runner up when Musquin won in 2010 , Musquin left to USA
Herlings was runner up when Roczen won in 2011 , Roczen left to USA
Herlings won 2012
Roczen was quite a bit faster, but this was a great battle between the two. Time has past, and I think both guys have gained speed. Herlings is built like a brick shithouse compared to the normal rider. No way to know who's faster while healthy currently, but I guarantee that Roczen was foaming at the mouth watching Herlings stick it to our guys at Iron Mountain.
You mean a tiny little bit?

(But for the record I said a while ago Herlings would be up to speed in 3 months, I finally got something correct. Now if Kawasaki can win the shoot out
