Best quote from the article:

"While on painkillers, he went on many a late-night shopping spree. His most unusual purchase? A unicycle"

This writer is able to articulate what it is like ride a motocross bike as well as any I have ever read. Very nice without all the hyperbole about us being dare devils with a death wish. Kenny's story is amazing.

Agree 100%. Something digestible by SX fans and non-fans alike. And doesn't denigrate Ken or the sport. Alyssa Roenigk deserves a round of applause.

If you haven’t, do yourself a favor and read Alyssa Roenigk‘s other articles too. She is very impressive. Kurt Caselli article in particular was pulitzer worthy.

just went to ESPN and saw this on the front page, which I thought was cool. Was going to create a thread until I saw I was 3 hours late.

I’ve never been a huge super fan of anyone since I was a little kid. But god damn I want him to win again so bad.

Alyssa Roenigk is good friends with Brett Smith of @wewentfast and Racer X and Meta. She has written some excellent pieces on motorcycling in the past, and this is an excellent feature -- I'm glad she got the space to tell Kenny's story!

Great read, lot of respect for KR, and it's still incredible to me that he made such a strong come back. Also incredible that someone would down vote this.

|

There's something happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear.

Should Kenny win this SX title, it will be without a doubt the greatest comeback in MX history, no? Great article BTW.
