Just seen the news that big Ken has retired , great rider and great character- good luck with the future.
Just thinking about about Ken going past the top Mx1 riders on what looked like an 85 and then waving his hand as if to beckon them on to keep up, legend! Brings a smile to me every time.

Great rider, great career and a top bloke. Wish him all the best in whatever he decides to do from here.

BTW, MXVice reported that he made the decision to retire immediately after the first moto at Assen, and he didn't line up for the second one, which is just brilliant. Could he have retired in a more typical De Dycker way than that? Deciding half way through a GP that he can't be arsed anymore Grinning

Keeno at a Belgium Championship round few years ago on a 2 stroke Cool

Awesome rider and great guy. Saw him allot at my local track in the mid 2000's. One time he was there with a helmet brand to test new models and we where parked next to him, talked a bit and offered us to test some also. (i forgot the brand...)

Happy retirement Big Ken!

Is that quarry in Belgium still a track? I used to see footage of guys riding it all the time, not so much anymore.

Some remarkable facts, 2nd to Villopoto at Buds Creek mxdn moto1 !
That was the first time he came on my personal radar. I was there & it was like, who is that guy? Wandering around Budds that day before the races I chanced to meet him out in the crowd enjoying the scene, not knowing who he was. Great guy, very down to earth. Its a wise man who knows when it's time.

Well, dang. Congratulations on a great career. I saw him at Budd's Creek at the MXoN in 2007. Cool rider!

A top level MX racer that was actually a big man. A rare feat in today's racing. Tall guys everywhere should miss him.
