Kawasaki Electric Mini Bike

Just saw a FB ad for a new electric Kawi. Assuming mini because they had a small kid in the beginning of the ad.

Rumour floating around is that the 65 and 85 are going to replaced by electric bikes

Kind of off base here, this electric bike fad is making me want to buy a vintage air cooled big bore, one that goes pang pang pang pang and makes everyone jump when you crack the throttle Laughing

Will explain why there's been no development on these bikes for so long.

People dont want the KX65/85s now anyway. Id be happy to see Kawasaki lead the way with Japanese electric bikes.

I think E-50s and 60s are great. A lot of little fellers don’t like the deafening noise of a 2 Stroke ICE bike which is definetly understandable at a young age.

You’re the one with a bank account and an interest in dirtbikes. You probably even clicked their ad.

And then you immediately came to an mx forum to talk about it.

Great targeted marketing indeed.

Anyways, here’s more information.

On June 7th we find out. Now an electric KLX-"E" 110 pit bike would be sweet.

I grew up riding around my neighborhood and only with e bikes is that still possible. My kid will have one.

Maybe Kawi should focus on improving their chain rollers before they tackle electric motors.

Just bought me a battery powered echo weedeater, works great. Should have tossed the smoker in the can years ago.

My boys love their electric bikes (two 8 year olds and a 6 year old) but the electric future is far from perfect. When we’re riding around the batteries are good for half an hour and then need to cool and charge. Hydrocarbons sure are a lot more convenient being able to take 2 minutes to splash half a gallon in the tank and keep ripping.

The deafening noise is from their dads not repacking they silencers! Just saying mine have never sounded like a uncorked chainsaw… but e minis would be awesome not to jet those finicky bikes

"Fortunately, we’ve been able to uncover some more clues that suggest the mystery bike will be an electric balance bike called the “Elektrode."

Hope it costs less than the new 20" Stacyc!

I am so down for an electric 85 as a Pitt bike, can make a track in your back yard and not have wringing neighbours about noise

Have you been to any races lately? Still plenty of kids racing KX 65s that I see. Great entry level bike for kids moving up or not trying to be the next big thing. I'd guess that cost of ownership is also less than that of other brands.

Resale (and you will resale quickly at this age level) on a YZ65 would more than make up the $800 price difference in terms of cost of ownership.

Yes I was at the races yesterday. That’s the 5th race for me this year, 9th day at the track this year.

I can’t say what it’s like in the US, but here in the UK, we see very very few green kids bikes.

I had that line of thinking and started my kid on one..was a big mistake...if you want to teach your kid to ride properly at least..ergos are so funky..switched to a tc65 and it was like night and day first moto...
