I here this stuff really works good on suspension components. Are their any ups n down on the to nitrate here they done last very long on forks and wears away quickly.wondering if anyone has had any experience with either of these I want to do something with my 2018 crf 450 suspension.

The titanium nitrate coating will wear through much quicker than a DLC coated lower fork tubes. DLC lasts forever. To minimize the wear of the titanium nitrate, make sure you keep the seals really clean, especially after riding in mud or sand.

Here’s my recommendation: why do you want your suspension coated? For looks, or performance? There may be a tiny amount performance gains (or losses, depending on who you talk to) to coat stock components. Any difference you feel is mainly placebo effect. If you just love the way it looks, then go for it! It really does look amazing.

Yes it does look nice but very expensive would like to have it done but don’t want it to wear out in a year or two.

I would do dlc if you do it. As far as coating stock suspension bones from pro circuit said it has a negative effect because it's not meant to have it and you're changing the tolerances.

I have blue lowers, they sure have faded since day 1. Currently have about 30 hours on them. I was told blue does fade the quickest but its what i wanted.

Will update with pics

Top is from when they just got done, bottom was the most recent service. You can see the fade better on the right upper tube.

I would suggest fresh service, good oil, low friction piston band and some low friction seals are more beneficial than the coatings, I do think they look good, cant deny that

I wouldnt... just buy dlc coated lowers. Stripping and coating them never works as good. You can buy dlc lowers for like 500.

Very much agreed on the blue wearing out fast for the money u spend. Might just send the Susp pto Jeremy in Pennsylvania and have him do it up. Have had factory connton many Nike want to try something different so might go with Evo.

The blue is just regular TiN with an interference layer to create the blue look. That layer can wear off relatively easily, but the TiN itself shouldn't wear off all that quickly. DLC will be better all around, though, both wear and performance. Either way, TiN, blue TiN, or DLC are all applied over the stock hard-chrome coating, it isn't stripped and applied.

Upper tubes, on the other hand, are stripped and then coated (Kashima, Kyokote, anodize, etc.). And if it's done properly, Kashima or Kyokote will be higher performance than the stock anodize. The key is taking it to someone who knows what they're doing as it's a pretty delicate process. Beyond that, you'll need to properly shim the fork bushings to get everything working as best as it can (you should really do this whether you use fancy coatings or not).
