KX450F shock compatibility & interchange (A-Kit)

Will a Showa A-kit shock (currently on a 2013 model KX450F) fit on a 2016 or 2017 model KX450F?

Yes. Adjuster may not line up perfectly with the hole in the shroud but bolts up and fits fine.

If I remember, ML tried to fit the old shock on the 2016 and the reservoir hit the pipe. I'm not 100% sure tho.

Depending upon what design your A-kit shock is, you might have a little clearance issue around the upper shock mount... Nothing that can't be fixed with a little bit of grinding though! You should be good to go though... Are you using a long body or the short/fat PC style shock body?

ML, thanks for that reply. I've been waiting (weeks) for my buddy to get a pic of his shock so I would know for sure. I snapped one with my phone last time we met up at the race track.

I think this is a PC A-Kit since he has billet 39mm or 40mm fork lugs which are engraved PC KX.
