Hopefully they are not rushing into production without extensive testing. As awesome as they have been with new innovation they are getting sloppy on the production end of things. Head over to KTMtalk to see a variety of issues with 2017 product (in the two stroke threads) Hoping this new tech keeps the two stroke alive and well for many years though!

Injected two strokes have been very successfully used in outboard marine motors and snowmobiles by BRP. It drops emmission down to 4 stroke levels, broadens and smooths power delivery and decreases noise. Im sure whatever KTM builds will be just fine, and we all should be excited to see serious two stroke development.

I am so glad they are snoozing, you can keep all that fuel injection crap. Nothing like loosing 5% horsepower and adding $1000 to the price.

Looks like I'll be waiting another model year to see what problems lie ahead.

I put a Lectron on my bike a couple years back and it has been nothing short of brilliant.

I hope the industry doesn't snooze on having an entry level 2 stroke. affordable that is. doesn't have to have all the latest and greatest.

Eh? Carbed bikes had 5% more power than the current crop of efi 450's?

They didnt catch the japs sleeping. The jap brands have had efi 2 stroke engines for decades. Just not on a bike. Why? Economics

Learn mechanics before you post, FI is a couple horsepower loss on the same bike.
