I've got about 8 hours on my 450 and haven't had any problems. Here's the link:

hmm, seems like a minor issue, good for them for admitting and fixing the problem. The ktm haters will be here shortly...

kind of unrelated but I had a conversation with my old dynamics professor in which he talked about how the big car companies will literally calculate the cost of a potential recall and compare it to the monetary costs (eg: lawsuits) of the likely amount of deaths that may occur due to not performing the recall. And then based off that information they will decide whether or not to implement the recall.

To your second point, that's a disgusting way to operate. Period.

This does seem like a small issue that is easily resolved. I will say that when I first saw the link and started reading, I was hoping that it was related to swapping defective 4CS forks for the AERs...wishful thinking...

So I have a 2016 350sxf and was racing two weeks ago for the first time the bikes only 4 weeks old and as I was going over a table top the throttle stuck wide open and when I landed I blew through the corner over the Berm and land in the middle of the track. I sprained both my wrists and fractured a bone in my hand... Any thoughts?

Hear about VW's current woes?

Yeah, that's not how it works.

Oh jeez....the whole VW emissions thing is a crock of shit. But people eat the shit because the mainstream media reported on it.

Except that they knowingly and willingly cheated on emissions tests as the largest auto manufacturer in the world, so there's that...

And your point is? http://ericpetersautos.com/2015/09/23/crucified-by-uncle/

I will say nothing further regarding VW....sorry for the hijack.

As for KTM, good for them on issuing the recall.

Many locked gearboxes/blown motors on 2016 models (mostly 250f) but is this only euro-spec problem or same also at US?

I think the general consensus here is that they will see it as an isolated incident

However, good on KTM, bouquets for doing the recall, bats for having the problem in the first place

mmmm can't see it as being a conscious decision as a whole company to deliberately evade the worlds most stringent emissions regulatory body...

I spoke to KTM US yesterday afternoon and they confirmed that the recall was only for Euro models, for the time being anyway.

I have seen a bunch of broken front wheels blowing out spokes and destroying the front wheel. Happened to a dirt rider test bike amd a few other Mag tests I can't recall I also have seen more than a few people posting on here with the same style front wheel blowout. Surprised that hasn't come up as a fix yet.

I heard of front wheel blowing out from the spoke nuts being loose and or coming loose the first rides. The fix was checking/tightening your spokes before a ride.

KTM needs to do a recall on these POS Excel front wheels!! I have never seen/ridden such crappy spokes! Obviously they made them smaller for weight but the structural stability is now almost non-existent! I came up a little short on a jump, cased it but didnt bounce or come off he bike and snapped 8 spokes right in the same spot (see photo) I have over shot and come up short many times before, breaking ankles and strained back and wrists and never seen this happen! What amazes me is how they all (all 8) snapped at the exact same spot! shows the obvious weak point! I am going to bring it by the dealer and see what they say but does anyone else have any ideas?? I am obviously replacing with a stronger spoke set and hoop.

Haven't had any problem with mine but dealer told me to bring my 15.5 by because they have new fuel lines for it. Have had problems with other ktms though and ktm has always fixed it with no cost to me. That's worth something

Thank you for the info! Do you know if it was within the warranty period? and did he just deal with the local dealer or have to contact KTM?
If you happen to know who had the issue or have a link to that thread it would be greatly appreciated!

Got mine swapped last week. They are noticably larger.
