If you buy second hand and want access to the membership having to pay is reasonable. But buying new should be your way in.
At the same time though any program ive ever seen that offers discounts many online retailers match or even beat the standard discounts every day you know?
Like some of the online sponsorship deals people get the pricing isnt much or any better than say rocky mountain or the like.

True, ideally such a membership will have preferred pricing that is lower than any other dealer/retailer. However, dealers would be part of the sales network and would still receive their spiff for all purchases.
