Robby Marshall rips in the sand & on a 2smoker. He was on that 2stroke motocross team a few years back if I remember correctly. He will do well!

No shortage of locals having good or great showings at southwick nationals over the years. I hope he has a great ride on the two stroke in the motos.

He still would have qualified 12th based on second practice times. Not a fluke. The dude rips.

No clue, I'm in California and not at the races this weekend... Robby rides a 2-stroke well but the B practice has a massive advantage at this round. It'll be interesting to see how he does.

He posted a picture last night, but my KTM skills aren't good enough to tell.

I don't think it's a 16, notice the wrap around fork guards and black frame. Must be a 14 or older

2016 had a black frame, 2015 orange, 2014 and 13 had dark gray frames.

Those wrap around fork guards aren't oem white, they're aftermarket... Could have been added.

You sure you're thinking of the 250SX? I coulda swore it was orange 15 and 16.

I assume the wrap around fork guards are because it's CC forks. Which leads me to believe it's pre 4CS year, aka 12 or 13. Could be swapped forks though.

16 was black frame, 15 was orange and 14,13 had a grey frame, but 12 had a black frame... Maybe it is a 12 but I'd say he'd probably have a newish bike for a national?

That's embarrassing for the factory teams . . . a snowmobile guy and a 250 stroker up in the top 5 against the "worlds best mx'r" as the media proclaims.

EXACTLY.

I don't care if he's a local rider.

I don't care what practice he went out in.

He qualified freakin' 5th against all the high dollar bikes and high dollar riders.

His qualifying and finishing well only reaffirms my opinion, that the smokers are still highly capable of competing.

It always has been, and still is 95% rider.

You guys sooooo underestimate the power of an MX11 and holding it pinned first session on a quickly deteriorating sand track. However, I will caveat myself by saying he qualified like 12th, ahead of James Stewart, at Muddy Creek, I wanna say first year of that race. (Amidst some water truck path controversy)

I chatted with Robbie Marshall a bit last night and he said that he definitely gave up quite a bit of hp on the both starts and he probably could've ran up a little higher on his FE450 but he also said he probably would've faded back much further on it too because he was is no shape to do 30+2s. He said the track was awesome and in great shape and was pretty Fn rough and that the 16 250SX was set up perfect for that track and that his 450 wasn't so the decision on what bike to ride was an easy one. Don't forget he got a 3rd in the first moto at the last Southwick a few yrs ago so he's got some serious skills.

How come there hasn't been a mention of the JBR section in moto 6?
