Wanting to get more low-end pull of of my otherwise stock Factory Edition. It's very smooth, but seems it could use a bit more snap off the bottom for clearing jumps right out of a corner, while keeping the top end pull it's known for. Any suggestions from the Forum? Could an ignition re-map accomplish this?

You’ve swapped to the larger throttle cam, right? If so, an ECU remap or aftermarket (GET/vortex/etc) will do the trick.

13/50, 150sx cage, tps, adjusted or a remap. Or vortex ecu. Good fuel helps also.

Remap ECU with Twisted Development or Vortex ECU from Twisted.

Gearing would help but you will lose some top end.

Try replacing the filter cage with 2 stroke screen cage and remove backfire screen.

The bike is all stock at this point. I have tried VP T4 fuel, and the bike def did not like it...lots of popping off throttle entering corners...What are procedures for adjusting the TPS? The manual has no mention of it?? (I do have a good multi-meter)

My buddy just got the Vortex from Twisted Development, same bike as yours. He won't quit yacking about what a difference it made and how bitchen his bike runs.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I think the idle adjustment will also change the TPS setting, is that correct?

We were having the same problem. Adjusting the TPS, there is a good thread in the tech section on how to do it, and adding the FMF exhaust helped it a lot. I have a 50t rear ready to go on it and plan on sending the ECU for a remap by motolab to finish the project!

Yes changing the idle will change the TPS. We had our meter hooked up and watched it go up and down as you twist the idle adjustment!

Waiting for the dealer to see why she will not stay running right now!!!

I’ve heard about a few fuel pumps going on the 19s. I’d start there.

A buddies in-tank fuel filter split on his 18 fe at 10 hours, he was ready to replace the pump.

I also have the twisted vortex on my 19 450, HUGE improvement.

Keeferinctesting.com . If he hasn't done a podcast or article on it he will gladly answer your email. Just don't send a one sentence email though, give him a little story and background info.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I now have a TPS meter / tool on order. Going to try adjusting that , and will probably also get a remap on the ECU. Ill share my results!

Technically you’re not changing the TPS with idle or throttle. The TPS adjustment affects how much fuel for a given throttle position (butterfly opening). But knowing/having a baseline idle is important as you richen or lean your TPS voltage from what it is to what you change it to. Mess with idle, your baseline will be different (higher voltage at faster idle, less at slower idle). Wanna work apples to apples.
If you richen .02 Volts it will be richer across the range but less effect as butterfly opens more. Percentage increase will be less as you twist the throttle.

If you really want to do it correctly make sure butterfly is closed completely. Take filter out and look. That voltage is your baseline TPS setting.

Just going to the black throttle pully will make a very noticeable difference. Takes two minutes, you should give it a try before spending money on stuff.
