Justin Hill says he will be going for it this year outdoors as he wants to win at least one overall before he moves to the 450 class. He also talks to Doug Turney about his favourite and least favourite outdoor tracks, two-strokes and his new way of thinking coming into the motocross season.

You can read the full interview here.

He has the speed, talent and skills to get wins outdoors. Hopefully he found the missing piece of the puzzle!

I would hope he would want at least 24 moto wins and not just 1 overall . Not really a big Fan of Hill . Great rider and nice enough person . just do not care for his attitude that much . .. Hope he has a strong outdoors this year .

You would hope that he’s aiming for an undefeated outdoor season? Ok...

The guy is not very good outdoors and it really shows that he is not motivated to get better.

Trust me I am a Justin Hil fan but this is an odd statement from someone who has had trouble getting top ten’s outdoors.

“It’s perhaps one of the reason he does better in supercross than motocross, he prefers the technicality of it all and doesn’t like just holding a bike wide open around a disced up motocross track.”

I think he will be around 10th

|

5/18/2018 8:27 AM

Then why didn't he go for it on the Kawi? I too half ass my job because I prefer other tasks.

Nice interview. Although it was very difficult to read.

How does anyone want to hire a guy like that? I wouldn't want to

I’ve got a different take on JH than most. I think he’s smart, or cunning, whatever adjective you want that shows he’s not going to ride over his head. He’s smart enuff not to get into ego battles. Why risk injury when you don’t have to? His deal is set!
He knows he has speed and talent, KNOWS it. He has a deal for a 450 ride and has zero reason to push it. If he’s with the front of the pack and feeling good he will go for it, just like in SX.
It’s annoying for us fans, we want to see every rider lay it all out there every Moto. Ask yourself, do you do that every race you’re in? Sometimes you feel it, sometimes meh.

He and his brother both come across TO ME as disingenuous. They're likable at first impression for sure, but I just don't take their enthusiasm at face value. When Baggett or Peick say something, IMHO, you know they aint blowing smoke. All grit. These guys, while extremely talented, don't come across that way.

I'm not drinking the Justin Hill koolaid. I will be shocked if he gets through the series, let alone win an overall.

He didn't do anything on one of the best bikes in the class last year. Being on the Suzuki this year is not going to do him any favors outdoors.

I say 8-12th place at best and doesn't finish the season.

how is he not a good outdoor rider?? a podium & a couple of 5ths & 6ths here and there , he just lacks motivation , yea hes far better indoors than outdoor but to say hes not very good at outdoors is crazy talk right there fam. if justin really wanted too , he can be a regular top 5 guy outdoors

Yes i would hope that he would be aiming to go undefeated . Not that that would happen . His Half ass attempt shows through . IMHO. He will be sick soon enough . so he can get ready for the 450.

Starts going for it next week....

|

5/19/2018 3:52 PM

Did he make it through the amateur ranks on a supercross only contract too?

|

5/19/2018 7:29 PM

the Rookie Enzo beat him on the Suz. so it's not the bike really.

Series starts after Daytona he’s pacing himself.

|

5/19/2018 7:41 PM

He seems like a really nice dude and all, but as far as him as a rider not a fan at all. Can’t believe he has such a guaranteed good ride. It’s like paying the lawn man a year in advance, and then wondering why he never comes and mows your grass on time. Stupid move whoever promised him that shit.

I’ve heard that he doesn’t put the work in off the bike.. true or not I’m not sure. Sure seems like it
