Wow, Justin lays it all out on his switch from PC to JGR and I for one applaud his honesty. Usually don't hear this much specific info from riders.

- Kawi wouldn't offer him a 450 deal
- Was going to do a SX only deal with PC
- Wanted 3/4 of the $$ for SX only, I assume they offered him 1/2
- No practice mechanic support?
- His take on the outdoors was interesting. Hasn't he been in the class 4 years now? He's just now realizing the national tracks are gnarly and dusty public tracks in non-humid CA weather isn't adequate practice...?

I personally wouldnt have offered him a 450 deal either. He clearly showed no real effort to do well outdoors, which is half of what a 450 guys needs to be good at.

Ive always found it strange that 1/3rd of a 250 season is somehow worth double than the other 2/3rds. by limiting himself to a SX only deal it would only further hamper his value to a 450 team by showing that he's not willing to work.

I think most people pay for their practive mech...

there was nothing stopping him from heading east last year. its what ciancirulo and savatgy do...jus sayin.

He went and got what he wanted, a garunteed 450 deal plain and simple. And hes going to be on a very good 450. Hopefully this move does him good and he reaches his full potential outdoors, time will tell.

Nice to hear a rider give us actual insight into what happened instead of just giving vague generalities.

Hopefully it works out better than when he was searching for greener pastures at KTM. By no means bashing Hill and would love to see a champion at JGR

I like hill and he deserved that contract IMO. He had some good finishes on the KTM outdoors so that means he has the speed. Hopefully the 250 will be fast and reliable. + Hopefully a healthy season indoors and outdoors as well.

Wish him the best. JGR is a fantastic team but they certainly have their work cut out for them with that 250f. Would be awesome to see them and an RMZ up front in the 250 class, though!

I hope he can make Suzuki a winner again in the Lites class. I think Blake Wharton in 2013 was the last major Suzuki win on a 250f in the US.

I just liked the fact it was an interesting read. Not sure if I'd say I'm a fan, but I'll keep an eye out to see how he does next year. This is the way interviews should be done.

To me it seems like he more wanted some job security with the guarantee of a 450 deal. I definitely have my opinion on Hill after this past outdoor season but I really can't blame him for doing what seems to be best for him.

Not a lot of guys have much good to say about the Suzuki.....especially the 250.... Don't you guys think Hunter Lawrence showed that the Suzuki is capable of running up front with a motivated rider? I don't know how motivated Hill will be?

Anyone questioning Hill’s desire, intent, motivations, what happened in outdoors etc needs to listen to the interview he just gave on the PulpMX show right now. Dude lays it all out there. Bought a house here in NC and sounds like he’s 110% all in on this new program. If he can stay healthy, his future sounds very interesting

Not really a fan of him. But it’ll be nice to see an RMZ up front in the lites class.

What the fuck does this mean?

Well ya' see... The reason I went to them was because I thought about it and decided I would like to go to them for the aforementioned reasons.

Right? It's basically tautological. Just talking for the sake of saying it.

Actually, Hill stated that Mitch Payton agreed to a Supercross-only contract.
What they didn't agree on is the price.

Nice to read an open interview, but I laughed at his comments about the outdoors.

I wanna be all sceptical because I don't agree with his past actions/inactions, but you can't fault the man for wanting some job security.

Bowers had a supercross only deal with PC in 2015 and 2016. Also Josh Hansen in 2010 and 2011, Darcy Lange in 2007.

I'm gonna be honest with you here....he seems like he's trying too hard to "keep it real". I'm just telling you straight up how I feel...just being honest with you, I'm not gonna lie.

And LOL at BUYING a house for a temp job assignment. Who is his financial manager?

Once again, vital knows best. A rider opens up and gets torn down by the same people who want less canned responses. The guy had some things he wanted out of his employer because he felt that was best for his career and he found it. The judgy assumption making shit is pretty middle school fellas. Let’s note this interview and come back to it next year.

Whats wrong with buying a house for a 2 year contract? Charlottes a competitive market, he'll probably make money on it.

They did it for Hanny. Twice. 2010 and 2011 he raced sx only. I dont know why he would want a sx only deal tho. He needs to be out there all year. He really wants to race 8 races a year and make 3/4 of what he should make had he also raced the nationals? Lol

• job security
• 450 year 2 on good team
• likes Suzuki handling and thinks JGR can hot rod the motor
• gets his own gear deals
• likes the team's vibe and capabilities
• doesn't like California and likes NC

I thought it was a curious move at first, but it makes a lot more sense when he laid it all out there. His interview on Pulp was great.

He did a pretty good interview on the pulpmx show this week. Talked pretty open about why he left and some of the reasons he got destroyed in MX too.
Sounded like he wanted a 450 option and Mitch wouldn’t give him one.
