Injured or not, that guy throws some swaggy one-footers. Hope he heals up quick.

Not sure that it's bad luck as a search for a more permanent fix.

Autotrader/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing Team's Justin Bogle sidelined for remainder of the Nationals

Justin Bogle (19) takes yet another holeshot at the Washougal National MX on his RM-Z450.

Brea, CA (August 6, 2018) – Autotrader/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing Team’s Justin Bogle will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2018 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. The Cushing, Oklahoma native underwent a successful submuscular ulnar nerve transposition surgery this morning to repair the damaged ulnar nerve in his upper right arm. Bogle had been dealing with fatigue and loss of strength in his hand since returning to racing last month following a long layoff due to a broken upper right arm sustained at the San Diego Supercross.

“I came into 2018 with high hopes, but I was hit with a number of uncontrollable circumstances,” stated Bogle. “The year went sideways and never straightened out. Originally I wanted to finish the last three rounds of the Nationals, but after further consulting with my doctors, we decided to get surgery in order to fix my arm and start with a clean slate moving forward. Unfortunately, I will miss the remaining Nationals. Thanks to the team for backing my decision after what has been a really difficult season.”

Autotrader/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing team manager Jeremy Albrecht understands Bogle’s situation and stands by his decision to get surgery. “Justin has had a tough year with injuries. He couldn’t seem to catch a break. I commend him on coming back and trying his hardest, despite the fact that he wasn’t 100 percent. Justin put the Suzuki RM-Z450 up front in six of the past eight motos and showed good speed. I hope he makes a full recovery and can get back on track.”

The Autotrader/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing Team will travel to New Berlin, New York on Saturday for round ten of the 2018 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. Please visit www.jgrmxraceteam.com for more team news.

He was showing good speed this season and pulled a few hole shots. He has a lot to look forward to next season when he's healthy.

Hope this surgery works out. This sort of explains how he could hotshot and then fade so badly. Can't imagine riding/holding on with a nerve damaged arm.

Injuries gotta be so frustrating for Jgr. Probably makes them wanna just stick to car sports where the driver is protected by a damn cage.

Hope all the guys talking crap on Bogle think twice next time they want to slam a rider. Never know what's going on with these guys. Hope he gets things back on track next year.

Isnt the Ulnar nerve the one you hit when you bang your "funnybone"? If so, I couldnt imagine riding like that.

Get well Bogle!

You can't deny that guys style on a bike.

Wow, so now where does this put him for 19? Obviously he can haul ass with the front guys and obviously he is clearly one of the best if not the best starter in the 450 class.

He has won races before and even with a pinched ulnar nerve he could rip holies and run top 5 for 10 minutes. A second tier team would be smart to pick up him and get their name on the map. Phoenix racing? RM ATV ktm?(not second tier) HEP Suzuki?

His contract is up and that will be a longgg time off the bike in total. How long do these take to heal? If I was JGR Id sign him again they have no one. He can at least holeshot and even won last year. Nobody on that team can say that and pretty much nobody in the class can either. Id give him as much time to get to 100% and come back strong. With him and Kenny theyve both had injuries and time off the bike but theyre 2 of what 4 people that have won in the last 2 years? Kenny is rippin holeshots n winning this year and hes already a top 3 guy. It would be smart for both to stay where theyre at.

This would explain grabbing holeshots and then fading back to 20th.
Sucks for JB, hopefully he gets picked up by a team next year.

Is he still under contract at JGR for 2019?

If not, this decision would be a sure sign that he has re-signed or signed elsewhere so he doesn't have to prove his worth in these last few races.

His contract with JGR comes to an end this year. Pretty sure he's out at JGR and moving somewhere else.

I hope JGR keeps Bogle around. The 450 class needs every able bodied fast guy we have on the gate. Who would they replace him with that wouldn't be a step backward? Please, someone make it make sense.

I think Weimer is out at MCR, Bogle in. Based on nothing but my own speculation. He had an offer from them before but turned it down. After Brayton won on their bikes and honda support increases I don't see why anyone would steer clear.

This is a real shame. The guy just cant catch a break. I don't see how JGR can re-sign him. I agree with tprice. I think he's gonna be with MCR Honda next year.

The ulnar nerve is no joke. I had surgery on my hand once and they had to move around the nerve. My hand was so numb and useless that I thought I would never be able to use it right again. Eventually it healed but was scary.

No joke, no kidding.
I had an elbow break in 2009 and they had to move that nerve around to get the plate and screws installed.

My hand was numb for a while and with aggressive physical therapy, stretching, exercise I got most of it back. It sure was hard to ride with one finger on the clutch after that injury. I lost my grip on the left grip plenty of times that summer due to lack of feeling.

The little finger and ring finger and that half of the hand are still about 10% to 80% numb depending on the temperature. In cold weather I can't feel much in those fingers.

Recovery should be much shorter than what Roczen has had to deal with. I had an ulnar nerve transposition at the elbow, no significant activity for 3 weeks, then gradual increase. Back at about 60-70% by 2 months, 90% at about 3-4. Never fully recovered, but would say about 95% now.

I am sure that he is much harder on his arms than I am, so waiting on those muscles to anchor back down to the bone may take a bit longer in his case. Would not be surprised to see him on the bike and doing well by Anaheim 1, though.

Void contract. Hire someone that doesn’t fade to mid pack 4 laps after getting the holeshot.
