Good for him. Hopefully he does well at MEC & it reignites his career. When he's on he has the potential of finishing as a top 3 podium rider. That's good for the sport.

I really struggle with guys in Barcia's situation who made huge dollars through his career and go the privateer route due to lack of results - only to complain how expensive it is to race on their own. If some of these guys had half a brain they could fund a modest program themselves off of returns on early career earnings. Obviously I don't know Barcia's situation and he hasn't complained yet, but I wouldn't be surprised. Ping/DV's comments on the pulp show about these guys making huge dollars for a short time, are certainly validated with a situation like Barcia. I'd be keenly interested to see the portfolio of someone like Dungey, who made the high dollars but didn't appear to spend it on fancy cars, boats, houses etc. Will be interesting to see how this job-loss changes Barcia's personality.

Bet he gets a podium at MEC and ends up an MCR rider

After that it's up to him what happens
nevermind nothing to see here

he will most certainly get the MCR ride since Weimer just got hurt

Good for him I hope he does well. I also noticed he listed Feld Motorsports as a company that's helping him.. maybe I'm reading too much into this but I wonder if they are helping him get to the race because he usually provides some action which they obviously profit from? Maybe I need to take my tinfoil hat off?

I think it has more to do with helping guide him with the steps to register, pay entrance fees, explain how to get credentials, etc. For a guy who came from amateurs and has always been on premier teams with team managers, these are things he's never had to deal with before.
Very good point, didn't think of that.

Nice to see he's making the effort, must've been paying attention to Dean Wilson's approach.
Funny how that works when the pay checks stop coming in the mail.

I'm not necessarily a fan of his, but when he was riding up front, moves like this were kind of fun to watch.

I would love to see the stars align and see JB win the mil at MEC. Yeah, I know it's not very likely but would be cool to see.

I'm definitely pumped on Barcia racing the MEC. Not even pumped or anything, but that's pretty cool.

Definitely the right thing to do.

It's fucking crazy when you look at 250 SX champs the last few years who have struggled with rides...
