Justin Barcia Cooper Webb parallels

Both riders are 250cc champions that moved up to the big bike class touted as "the next big thing" with big contracts. Both riders are popular and polarizing with fans with some rough riding and strong attitudes. Everyone is outspoken on their feelings about their bikes when they don't live up to expectations. It will be interesting to see if Cooper's career continues to parallel Justin's.

Well Barcia won his second ever 450 SX race and another one later that rookie season. Barcia started his 450 career in a really good way.

Webb on the other hand has had a horrendous rookie season.

Honestly Webb started to kill it in SX once he got things dialed then he got injured. Webb will get better..he did have some good rides in the outdoor with some top 5s.

Barcia never won an outdoor title. That's the biggest difference. Cooper is an overall better rider in my opinion. Barca actually got fairly close in 2012, bUT tomac and bagget were better than him all yr despite Eli getting 3rd in cship with a last moto dnf

Barcia should be better but man, this sport is so mental.

Remember when Jake weimer almost beat dungey for duneys 250 sx title? And then he easily won the title the following year...all downhill since then..

I think Cooper has a riding style better suited to a 450, he rides with a lot of technicality similar to the riders in the 90s. I believe that guy will figure it out and can get to the level he needs to be a consistent threat at the front.
