Just thinking out loud
But I have heard talk on here of trying to think of ways to keep the points tighter and keep someone's hopes alive
If they crash and DNF a race or a mechanical DNF and the series is all but over , as far as championship hopes.
So What if they where to Run the 450 class
As an EAST/ WEST championship just like they do the 250 class now
Only different would be that any body can Run both the east and the West series .. so 1 guy could possibly with
Both the east and the West 450 Titles
But for a guy that misses a race or 2
He can still have a shot at a 45O championship on the opposite coast
And for 250 riders they will still only be able to Run one coast like they do know
But perhaps there would be more incentive
For them to hop on a 450 and race the opposite coast than the one they are riding 250 on
Thoughts?

Good idea. One of the reasons 250cc racing is so close is bc the series is short. A east west 450 class would give us two chase formats.

Then Las Vegas could be a one round super bowl.

If theres one thing we need, its more opinions on what to change about supercross. Someone needs to compile all the suggestions and find out what kind of Frankenstein of a series us fans would have come up with

I still say the best way is a "progressive" points paying system, where as the season progresses a win pays more points. May not make the points tighter if the leader keeps winning, but it does reward winning over not winning.

And gives a rider a better chance of making up points later in the season if he wins.

It's been suggested before - sharks with laser beams attached to their head trolling in a moat that surrounds the course.

I really think they should also find a way to incorporate some form of a ritualistic sacrifice during opening ceremonies.

The only possible format change that I think would be worthwhile would be to have a two moto format in SX like outdoors. The chase format seems dumb and a desperate attempt to manufacture drama. Two moto formats would provide more meaningful racing indoors, and it would provide extra opportunity to earn points if a racer has a mechanical. When a 3 hour broadcast only provides about 30 minutes of actual racing from the top 450 guys, something needs to change.
