With kids whipping before they learn how to shift it may not be totally true, but it can be a sobering reality.

I am sure I have offended someone who is in the wrong category, I was just looking for examples.

Struggling a bit with links, I'm sure I can get some help and fun opinions! Woohoo

I can laugh at this now haha All I did when I first started was practice whips. Then I got with an ex-pro that told me " no one cares about your whips when youre in last". If you want to whip do it for a win celebration ahaha. Changed my style after that. Now I don't even know if I want to whip lol sign of getting old I guess. I do know some kids that are c class type dudes that have no sense of fear and will pin it and jump anything. I was never like that ha

I wish I could jump, there seems to be stopper or safety pin that appears on the throttle just before any jump!
Every bike I've bought had the same problem!

I don't jump much these days but can still get through sand whoops and ride trails pretty quick. Just don't take the risks anymore.

Jump for show, Corner for Dough-
Except there is very little "dough" in this sport so do whatever you have fun doing.

I can tell my kids is riding well and having fun when he is throwing the bike around like a monkey not matter what place he is in. These kids can throw it flat at 12 years old.

The C rider pic above should be whipped out. You're no one in C if you ain't whipping...............

Yes, let's get rid of all the jumps. We can go back to racing on grass tracks, mow the grass, trade bikes for golf carts and start playing golf you old Nancy's.

Anyone have a link to the original thread where the above picture was posted? I think it was before my time here but I'm sure it would be golden to go back and read.

There are guys who are fast and guys in the desert who can do massive whips over 200 foot gaps who have never raced and never will.
Some of them ride local hill tracks and arent bad riders.

For skills, trials riders who moto for fun are overall, freakin impressive. They do shit Dungey would never think of.
Some enduro and off road guys are incredibly good at everything also, just not at superspeed.

A skilled offload rider can typically pick up the jumping side of a track in one day. I seen a guy pull up to Fast Farms once with bark busters and he rolled most the track the first part of the day and by the end of the day doing all the jumps and one of the quickest riders out there. It was a rutty day to, he was a gncc racer and wore his camel back all day.

If it was the old track at Sears Point, no one would be complaining but the racers today.
That track had gnarly off cambers(Like 30* angles or more), natural grass, and big jumps. All natural.

DDavis vs. dog. Who wins?

I believe the dog belongs to a Vital member.

I knew a guy who jumped great. But he knocked himself out about every third landing. I knew when I was racing him that sooner or later I'd see him on the side of the track, out like a light. Sometimes he'd pass me again later in the race. Don't think he ever knocked himself out twice in a race though. One time he knocked himself out on the last jump when he had a 30 second lead. SMH

Eventually he quit cause his wife threatened to leave him if he kept getting knocked out.

I like to jump. If it's a table. And it's less than 75 feet. Hell, I can't sack up sometimes to do a 30 foot double. That damn gap.

The lines are blurred, I have seen a C rider whip bigger than I have seen Dungey whip.

I'm not the fastest, just your average Vet B guy. But I've always been willing to huck the big jumps at the track. I was usually the guy my friends made jump something first and then they would follow me. Can't really whip, but I've gotten a few decent ones over the years.
