I really can’t wait to see him on a 450. The way he rides will suit one so well. The kid really is incredibly special

I'm sure he will be good but maybe not from the get go.. Look at how other MX2 champs like Herlings and Jonas needed half a season to start getting decent results on the 450s.

I'm excited to see Prado in the premier class. If Herlings gets back close to 2018 form, I think Prado is the only rider that can rise up to that level. It might not happen all the time in 2020, but there will be days where he's equal or better. Gajser will return to wadding up with Herlings back, and Tony can run the speed but he has to go over the edge to do it and he gets hurt.

Prado might be the only one to give herlings a battle the next few years. Gajser cracks everytime herlings lines up , fevbre needs to find that next level almost there.

Saw him ride today in the deep sands of Eindhoven, man this guys style is so mature, he is barely twisting the throttle, it al looks so easy. I did hit the track based on what i was seeing from him and i almost killed myself 5 times in the first lap. Besides him being such a good technical rider, his mental game is so strong. They where testing and taking it easy and there where a few good gp guys like Seewer and Simpson who where a little faster most of the day. But he just doesnt care, he just does his thing and wont let anyone get in his head, where Herlings for example just wants to show that he's the fastest everytime he touches that bike. Thats a really good ingredient of a true champion.

I dont see prado being a top 5 guy 2020, its going to take a full year to run that pace in the 450. 2021 could be interesting though, my 2 cents.

It's not going to be easy that's for sure.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him struggling to be get on the podium in the beginning. I also wouldn't be surprised to pull a Gajser and go 1-1 at the opening round.

It looks like Pourcel (style) and Cairoli (professionalism) had a baby, and here is the results !

i think it will take some time for Prado to adjust to 450 , but in time he will battle for wins
Team KTM is packed next season with Cairoli , Prado and Herlings on 450 ... i see races with all 3 of them on podium ...is 2020 Cairoli his last season ??

Cairoli's contract ends at the end of next year. Will he sign another extension? Doubtful, but never know.

His starts are usually so good. That has alot to do with confidence and end result. Being strong and in exceptional fitness of course helps.

I can see this kid pulling the holeshot in most mxgp mx1 races. He's so light and good at starts it's unreal. Such a smooth and controlled style. The others are gonna be the ones who have to run him down and get past him in so many races that I think one or two contenders will crash themselves out of the series because of this kid's speed and holeshot ability. I would not be shocked at all if he were mxgp mx1 champion next year. The greatest GP rider in history is also his coach/mentor. That is huge. This kid will be dominant as F. That's what I predict.

Can we talk about whether or not this KTM 450 team next year is the best team in the history of Motocross?
I can't remember a better team. Like ever.

3 riders that all have a shot at the title. Two of which are actually title favorites.

Thorpe, Geboers and Malherbe wasn’t bad

HRC in the states also had some pretty incredible team line ups

In the MXGP he is going to learn what it will be to have a couple of riders putting him under pressure. He had it one time in the mx2 with two or three riders and he didn't like it.

Gonna be a hell of a season when every one is healthy and stay's healthy in the big boy's class.

Yeap, poor Tiga... KTM also had the best team on paper this year and Tiga took the championship home...

I can't wait to see how he does on a 450. Remember how he did last year at the MXoN on a 250?

Side note, KTM moving Prado to the 450 class at this point, destroys years of conspiracy theories of why KTM left Herlings on the 250 as long as they did.

Guarantee he gets podiums for sure next year in 450, with his starts and speed . Those of you who don’t think he has the speed check some of the lap times and results from 2018 not only was his fastest lap the same as top 3 mxgp guys his overall race time would have him finish in top 5-10 .. He may not win the championship next year but he will show his normal glimpses of brilliance then come out swinging the year after . He is a perfect example of talent meets environment meets best team ...

Let’s not go to crazy here, I think Prado will be phenomenal. But some of the people are talking like he will win immediately and often. That’s a dangerous expectation for a teenager. Herlings was a full grown man when he moved up, so was AC. He will be on a gate with his team mates plus Gajser. And let’s not forget how fast DeSalle is on certain tracks plus Febvre started to find his form again last year. With the absence of Jonas who found his form at the end of this year too, who by the way won 15 motos against Prado last year and Covington who when healthy was the next fastest guy after the the KTM duo, Prado was supposed to dominate and he did. Point is some one like DeSalle is on a different level than every guy Prado raced this year. Realistically if he finishes in the Top 5 against a healthy field at the end of the year, thats a win.

He’s a Herlings/Gajser/Roczen level talent. 2 time world champion, and dominant champion at the age of 18. Gajser won the title in his first year in MXGP at 19. I’m by no means saying he will win the title first time, but his ability and results suggest that we should expect the same from him as guys like Gajser, Herlings and Febvre achieved when they moved to 450

Almost every race I've seen him in, he's got the hole shot and lead from start to finish. Never seen him even have to use any race craft.
