Seems like a pretty easy decision to make. Kid is on the way in, Joey on the way out at Kawi. I probably wouldn't be all that motivated to ride either if I was in his position

It is going to be awkward if the baby comes late.

Good on him! Rather he is on his way out or not, that is not a day or an experience to miss. Family always comes first and he will learn that now more than ever!

My guess- she will be induced or a planned C-section. Pretty much what they do these days..

It's better to be safe and miss a round than to miss the birth of your first child. Respect to Joey for taking the weekend off. Hopefully everything comes out well silly

Kinda off topic, if it was a title contender, would they skip?

There was a Time when Family comes first meant you did your job so you could provide for your Family.

Good for him. Like he said, they made him believe he had a spot on this team to prove himself but really he was just a seat warmer for AC. Why would he be loyal to a team not loyal to him?

Some people have to miss the birth because duty calls or just need the money to support the family.
There was time when dads weren't even in the delivery room during delivery, sat outside and wondered if it was going to be a boy or girl.
Different times now.

I hope they straighten the bike before giving it to AC.

Why? If he's not being returned and he's not in line to win the championship, who really gives a shit?

Yup, DNS or DNF doesn't make a whole lot of a difference.

Fantasy this weekend will probably be quite a bit less stressful with this news.

Hope all goes well for him and his wife this weekend.

I'm sure they're level headed people and can understand wanting to be by your wife's side for your first born.

Well, understanding the climate of this sport, which is no loyalty, and being the father of 4, I'd side with Joey.

Who knows, maybe he will get TV time because of this news. More TV time than the few seconds we have seen him at each race in the pits with a broken bike. Win win for everyone.

Probably not, but they didn't so I would do the same if I was him. I doubt Kawasaki even cares anyway.
