Thanks to Colleen Millsaps this kid got a chance!

J-Star/JDR KTM team manager Nathan Ramsey (a former factory racer and 250SX title winner) broke down the search for Savatgy like this:

“We started talking about an amateur program and wanted to be like other teams out there. We talked to Colleen Millsaps and she mentioned Joey being overlooked. She knows the amateur kids and made us look at him. In doing our research, we knew he had some skills at supercross. We saw the potential and he’s a good kid. We all went over it and this is the type of kid that we wanted. He’s going to make us look good and it’s a win-thing for us and for Joey.”

He seems like a good kid. My son and I have watched through his amateur career and the kid can ride and has a great style. My son has been telling me since last fall that he would be a contender and he was right on the money.
Joey put a picture on instagram last week and said the best caption would win his jersey and my son won it. Pretty cool of him to do that.

he was killing it in the heat race and i was screaming obscenities at Eli for the touch pass he put on Joey... and i don't even know the kid! but it impressed the hell out of me that a 3-digit rider was laying wood to the best in the class for 5 laps.

good luck to him and talk about a great pick-up for his team

I noticed both Tomac and Villopoto don't have much respect as they go bye...be it a F.O.T.P.'er or some lapper , someone is gonna get miffed and lay them down...
The "Young Man" ( That there is trademarked, not to be used without written permission of Ricky Bobby, Inc.) has quite a bit of talent..

i remember watching him race at our junior national over here back in 2009 battling with some of our local guys and now im watching him battle with the likes of Eli Tomac on my tv. and it's crazy to see how fast your riders progress compared to ours, alot of the people he was battling over here would really struggle to make a main and hes going for a top 10 position

Ooh so Joey doesn't like a certain group of people... There will be allot of MX, NASCAR, Football guys that will think the same but doing it a bit more discrete. Some people will hate a certain religion group. I mean after 9/11 allot of you have some bad feelings for our Muslim brothers and some people don't like Christians or Jews. But in the it shouldn't mater on the race track because if we are smart we would leave those stupid things outside the racetrack and pick them back up if we leave! Because we are all there for pleasure and relaxation!

Bye the way: I saw him at the Junior World Championship 125cc and knew from that moment that he could be a big one, so its nice to see that he is really on the move to make it happen.

PS: My bad English will probably screw my good intentions up so, mea culpa.

What happened to all the racism talk?
Most of it seemed based on someone who most people tend to disregard, who phones in on a call-in show. I think we need a little more data here.
