I knew him when he was racing Vet Expert in 1984 on a CR125. Fast.

Mine does at least. We have that Charlie Brown on DVD. I really think it was one of the things that got him wanting to ride more when he was really little. We have a Honda MR50 now and he says he is going to put a pumpkin on his head for Halloween.

Snake River '74 Evel Knievel Motocross. My dad's friend took a lot of good shots from the race. Here is one of my dad messing around after the race.

Might be one of the coolest threads on vital to date. Bman just elevated it to the next level.

Bman thanks for jumping in ... hope you and your family were able to save a lot of memories when the fire came through. That was so sad to read about.
Take care.

Some of the pros.

Awesome pictures. If you come across one with a snot nosed 7 year old in a Can Am shirt I'd love to see it.

We took a family road trip from Michigan to Idaho to see Evel jump the canyon. Still remember it vividly.

Way cool thread. Loved seeing the Peanuts stuff around town when I lived in Santa Rosa.

Got this a few years ago. And if you take a look at my avatar it’s obvious that Joe Motocross had an impact on me as a kid.

Thanks KMC.
No luck finding a 7yo in the crowd shots, but I did look.
Love the tattoo!

Here is one of the bikes my dad lost in the '17 fire:

And here is my first crash:

I so miss Calvin and Hobbes...and the Far Side.

Thanks. Yeah, it was Tubbs.

The Kinkade fire in '19 took my detached garage which did have a few bikes it in and some rarer parts for bike builds, but all my finished bikes I had time to move before the fire came through.

We got the Rickman and the '78 Elsinore fixed since this happened, but those bikes will never be like they were pre-fire with all the NOS oem parts that were destroyed.

Here is a clip from the movie my dad made during high school. Unfortunately the master film burnt, so we don't have the full movie anymore:

My friend lost his house and all his possessions in that fire. He lives in Rohnert Park. Just got his house rebuilt fairly recently and getting resettled. Scary stuff.

Calvin and Hobbes and Snoopy were my absolute favorites, followed by Bettle Bailey and Garfield. The good old days!

I also was heavily influenced by the peanuts gang. I have always been owned by a beagle for most of my life (they run the house, let’s be real). We have more snoopy toys and stuffed animals than you can imagine, we even have the racer x cover framed in the living room.

From looking at these pics, your Pop looks like a Wildman and had good style. 👍

And it looks like he has bird legs like me. Laughing

Did you show Joe Motocross this thread?
He'd probably get a laugh out of it.

Yeah, he thought it was great! He liked going through all the stories and messages.

Yeah, bird legs for sure! We are all built like matchstick men
