If Mitch wrote an article about himself and gave himself an award people would call him arrogant.

Jody's style of writing got a lot of us hooked on motorcycles and more importantly, motocross. I would venture a guess that if I didn't read his articles during my formative years, my life now might look much different.

Congrats to Jody, this award is well deserved.

That said, only a fool would deny that he has been influential. And the focus on bike settings has been a big help to folks.
If you can remember the 70s, you weren't really there man.

I'll bet that Jody has started more motocross races than anyone! I wonder if he knows how many?

The article says a conservative 2000. That seems like the low end for a guy who's been at it for 50 years.

Like BAMX said, back in the 70s, in Southern California, you could race damn near every day/night of the week (and a lot of guys actually did).

Also, thank you to Roland Hinz, plus Jody's "On the Main Jet" page.

The first issue I bought (OK, my mom bought after I bugged her in the grocery store) was June '84. It changed my world.

MXA reader since I was 11
I liked the Bazzer's writing style better, he was funny as sh!t! But Jody is more analytical and science-y and that works when you're testing bikes. He has gotten more 'get offa my lawn, durn kids!' and the pomposity I can do without.

I’m stoked for the guy.

The constant “debate” about him and the open acknowledgment of his various contributions, opinions & accomplishments in The World of MX prove his worth...and that he’s truly deserving of this award.

Congratulations, good sir.

Congratulations Jody! Been reading MXA for decades and Jody's Box, with the adventures of Jody, Louella, Jimmy Mac, ..., were a main draw.
