I'm really starting to dig the dude. Humble as they come.

I’m not at all concerned with how much sex young motocrossers are having, so I guess I’m gay now too. (Edit: looks like the mod team did some clean-up)

On topic, Shimoda has been great to watch all year. He may be a sign of a new direction at PC. Mitch’s mantra has long been “we can work with speed”, but most of his top riders have been riding way over their heads to achieve that speed and they inevitably get sidelined by injury. For the past few years PC has had riders more famous for their crashing than their racing. This seemed to start around the time they had Gannon Audette under the PC tent. Meanwhile, Star racing looks to have over taken PC for the most desirable 250 ride. I think Shimoda would have been passed over by Mitch in the PC heyday, but things have gotta change over there and Jo may be a step in the right direction.

Diffys accent in SX broadcasts leads him to say "shimoder" and it drives me bonkers! We need a nickname for sure

Do you think Jo has Forkner covered in SX speed now? Or will they be on separate coasts?

I have a feeling your account won’t be around long enough to have a discussion.

Don't get bagging on RD, he had perfect style on the bike. Always in the right position and managing his races. Would rather have a kid try to emulate him over someone like Forkner or Hampshire that are fast but always crashing

Ryan Dungey IS the definition of heart.

Edit: Post might no longer make sense. Dude's post I was referring to is now gone.

Big fan of young Jo.... hard worker, seems to have his head screwed on straight... if he keeps it on two wheels he will be a contender for years to come

He’s funny as hell on Instagram. Huge fan of his personality and his riding.

I'm a huge fan of the Quiet Storm that Shimoda is; I think he's got plenty of personality. I look forward to seeing him further develop into a star of the sport. I'm a fan of the Lawrence brothers too and their different personas.

Yes, if you consider winning a SX and getting 2nd OA at the wick as being quiet. He definitely speaks humbly and quietly...but I would say his riding is getting louder each week and it's not at all surprising to see him in the top 3.

BTW, good to see you're still alive and posting Boom. I hope your wife is doing well too.

All kidding aside, I like the guy. He deserves a nickname. There are so many potential monikers that surround his heritage, but I'm afraid those days may soon be behind us. It will be racist and/or culturally insensitive to call him something that would actually be a pretty great MX nickname, even if it's intended as a compliment. Instead his super-unique name will be something like JS30. Unsure

Pay me later lol

Kid is grinder, keeps his head down and charges. Love it
I like it! I was going to suggest a "dragon" name, too.
