Jim Holley seems like a nice guy, but his lack having a even a mediocre broadcast voice or any broadcast skills is painful to listen to. He regularly pronounces riders names wrong and brings little insight to the program. Am I the only one that finds the broadcast much better with the volume off?

You shut your anti-American-hero-mouth!

Gentleman Jim is 100% awesome and for the opportunity of him being interviewed over and again by various podcasts so that we may bathe in the incredible stories he has, is reason enough for him to keep that jobby!

He has insight! He let us know that Damon Huffman ran the #17!! I'm surprised he didn't bring up Jimmy Eillis and his Can Am!

Well Jim isn't a professional commentator , he's an analyst , same as Emig. Lots of knowledge in that man's head. Is he the easiest to listen too? No. But i think he does alright. Been around a long time so I cut him some slack.

I prefer Holley over Bowyer personally.
yes x1,000,000 That Bowyer guy is always referring to Jim Holley as "Jim Holley" in the booth gets old (as if we don't know which "Jim" Bowyer is referring to!) .

Bring back the tall volleyball guy, he was pretty good teamed up with Holley.

I like Jim Hollywood Holley, I hope he is always in the AMA SX.
I race one Supercross International with Holley and others riders in Valencia, Spain in 1990, he win one night, I only arrived to the semifinals, it was my first Supercross.
At night before the race, Holley took a walk looking at the other riders in the pits with his look cowboy, high boots, wide buckle belt, and that particular style of walking, long hair and beard, and some big belly at that time hahaha good remembers.
Here is the photo from Holley that race in Valencia with one kid, Manu Rivas, future spanish champion in Supercross and Rivas did a AMA Supercross races and coincides with Holley again.

Here in the video you can see the interview Holley and Rivas in he AMA in 2010

The best was when Jim mentioned about being ready for the Outdoors, and Andy quickly retorted the *%^#$%@ #*$%^# Supercross series. Grinning

Jim Holley is very good people.

It's not so much the commentators as it is the show overall that drags, obviously because they're promoting various things that no one cares about. But then again... it's free! Jim isn't easy on the ears (both his voice and constant mispronunciation of "interesting" grate with me after a couple of hrs), but he seems like a nice enough chap and of course knows his stuff. And again, it's free.

Most of you seem to agree he's a cool dude. I'll stand by my sentiment that he's not skilled enough to host Supercross Live and a more qualified replacement would go a long way to improving the broadcast and reflect better on the sport.

Well you are wrong. Jim is a great guy who has walked the walk. He's raced at the highest level, he's always stayed involved with the sport and has access to every rider in the pits...everybody likes him. Who cares if his delivery isn't robotic, it doesn't need to be. There are people who don't like the sound of Ralph's voice and others annoyed by Jeff Emig. You know what annoys me? People who complain about sports commentators.

I hope Hollywood is involved in our sport for as long as he wants to be.

He's earned it. We need more guys like him in the moto community if you ask me.
