I'd love to see Jett running RC's old number! (Assuming BB4 doesn't return)

I'll bet he'll hang onto the 18.

He understands a stable brand identity, there is already a lot of #18 regalia out there and obviously he is 18 yo with the championship.

Reed ran 103 in 2002 when he arrived in the US then took the #22 and it still remains with him.

Lawrence has already had 2 other Pro numbers: #496 for the three rounds he ran in '19 and of course the #83 in 2020.

All joking aside, has Blake been out long enough to lose his national number yet? I dont think he has, yet.
I think he’d have to not score 25 points in 2022 to lose the number, as the rules read.

In term of branding, J8ttson would be cool, better than with the 18, or J4ttson.

How random and awesome would it be if he lined up at round 1 outdoors next year, blitzed the field Moto 1 and then just packed up and disappear again lol.

My interpretation of the rule is that if you fail to score 25 points one year (unless you are injured), you lose your career number.

Special consideration very well could apply here... But it sure looks like Blake is done.

Top 10 numbers should only be for 450 SX or 450 MX riders based on results in only those classes. What other Motorsport has a feeder class that is rewarded equally to the premier class?

He should take #22 when available, that'd be kinda cool!

I thought the same thing at first considering the Australian connection and the career trajectory he seems to be on, but I changed my mind. The 22 already has quite the rich history in our sport.

Personally, I would take the 8 and write my own story. Not saying he couldn't with the 22, but the 8 is pretty much a blank slate and from a marketing standpoint it's a grand slam.

He's one of the few riders that I believe can truly benefit from the current numbering system and build a brand around a number.

He's young, has a great personality, and his fan base is only going to keep growing.

I hope he sticks with 18, it’s a great number and what better way to solidify his “ brand “ than to be the one that racks up a bunch of championships with that number as opposed to one of them that did it with 4, 2, or 5, etc...

Well when you put it that way, #8 makes sense.

I like how the single digits look on the 450 guys so I hope he picks a single digit number for when that time comes.

AC was 92 forever but switched to 9 when he was able to pick a single digit. I think it’d be a smart move to grab one when ya’ can!

A lot of good points on this thread, but I must say a number 4 on an HRC bike would be something cool to see.

Larocco made the 8 look good. I agree that it would tie in with the doughnut campaign. That’s my vote.
