I didn't get to watch it, but I was listening to it. Sounded like he had them covered somewhat easily in that moto...

he started near the front, Swoll was leading and fell, Tyson Johnson had a good ride. Shimoda and Brown started way back. Brown 22 on first lap finished 4th, passed Munoz with a couple corners to go for 3rd and Munoz got him back. Shimoda came up to 9th. Swoll really struggled and finished outside the top 10.

Mumford was the surprise for me, fastest lap on lap 7 and a really solid 2nd. Lawrence looked very smooth and fast, probably had more in the tank.

1st moto, 5 more, gonna be some good racing in the Pro Sport classes for sure.

Did Brown draw a bad gate pick? He and Shimoda were buried early. It will be interesting if they get off the gate with Lawrence.

Mumford definitely surprised me.

Not sure if Mumford got a bad start or fell or what, but he had to earn that second for sure... Feels like I've known Mumford's name for way too long given the results I've seen out of him over the past year or two.. EDIT: I wasn't glued to it, just glanced at the running order a few times at work. Peely likely has a more accurate recap

Lawrence had the easiest day of all them not taking away from what he did but he sat back weighted from the 2 guys in front of them to presser each other they fell apart he took the lead and ran off. Mumford was a little ways back I think he went from 7th to 2nd. Pierce Brown and Simoda both had to work hard to get as far up front as they did. Personally I think if the top 5 guys all get a good start we could see a Barnburner so it's too early to think anyone's gonna run away with it yet

Makes sense... Seemed like Lawrence backed it down later in the moto too. Going to be fun if we can get them all out together a couple times up front.

i haven't heard back but judging from the video they were about 4th and 5th from the furthest outside, so my guess is high 30's picks for both of them

Drawing lots for starting position is still idiocy, after all these years. A guy that wins his regional should get a better gate than a 7th place qualifier. Many, many championships have been lost by this BS. /rant

No love for Hardy Munoz? He was a beast last year and hes coming off a injury now, still got 3rd and is not even a full factory bike

Him and Pierce Brown have some history...I think from Texas earlier this year. Munoz and Tyson Johnson both put in great rides

name start finish
Mumford 10 2
Phelps 40 14
Brown 22 4
Shimoda 33 8
Harlan 21 9
Kobush 25 12

Definitely some guys able to move.....it's gonna be some good racing this year

Lawrence and Mumford were impressive. But here’s the scary thing. They were the 2nd or 3rd moto after the track was reprepped and +25 was the second to last moto of the day and the track was DESTROYED. Looks at the Pro Sport lap times vs Mike Browns and DD laps times.

Scary.

I was thinking the same thing earlier watching Durham and Brown......

Brown is coming off an injured shoulder and is not 100%. Great ride by Lawrence, bought himself some time in first 3 laps, then set sail once he got to the front.

Perspective though Yes those old blokes can shred but their lap times did drop to .59 quite quickly but for 1 or 2 laps lap they went super fast on rough track but on the other hand what’s also impressive is Jett is probably half the age of Mike brown regardless of how the rest of this kid’s week goes ,how many 15 yr olds have won a 250 pro sport MOTO especially in their first time ever at Loretta’s ! he looked like he was in cruise mode for no mistakes so will be good to see how he goes when brown and Shimoda get better starts he has raced those boys on and off this year and it can be any one of them on the top step all talented riders so may be in for some great racing ....

I don't know anything about any of these people but if Jett is 15 then he's a third of Mike Brown's age, not half. That's the concern you hear above. They're at opposite ends of the bell curve. Of course it's better to be 15 than 47 if you're hoping to get faster!

*Brownie's also a freak.

I was there watching live, he was very, very impressive. Mumford rode hard from behind to second. Both were impressive, it should be a very interesting week.

That is going to be a great battle between Jett and Brown and a few more. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to quite a few motos and surprised there isn't more people talking about it on here. Its great racing at every level. I am a bit jealous of everyone there. 😊

When I asked a month or so ago, plan sounded like it was Shimoda after LL and Jett for Hangtown next year.

Jett is still 15 now but I say he will still be amatuer next year or maybe like drake from TLD and go pro at outdoors I think shimoda is going pro as of unadilla for Geico so he will be in for sx but I don’t think Lawrence will .

Just a fyi, you can watch the whole coverage on demand and just skip to Pro Sport or whatever motos you want to see. Just bummed they didin’t show the first couple of motos, was really looking forward to see Deegan and Bennick rip it up.

Anton said Lawrence will ride Unadilla as part of A class rule, but on his amateur bike. Maybe those plans change with two bikes available now?
