Good for Jesse (kid that won $1 million cause of Tomac). But..why not have each rider select a charity or something they will donate the other $1 million too if they win all three mains? I’m sure Road to Recovery would’ve appreciated it. Again, good for Jesse, but I feel like the kids going to blow it in Vegas tonight.

I remember reading an article about winning the lotto and the whole "payments vs lump sum" debate. Basically it comes out to the same amount. The lump sum will have reached the same amount of interest as the total would be if you picked payments.
They say its best to take the lump sum and invest it in long term safe investments.

Monster is able to pay 1,000,000 to a lucky fan who didn't do anything.

Meanwhile privateers work their asses off and we can't give them a reasonable paycheck for qualifying for main events.

For an amount of $1 million I would take the lump sum and invest. If I won the mega millions jackpot though, I'd choose an annuity of several million per year.

Yeah I’m happy for him but your all right about it could be going somewhere better.. who said it had to be 1 million dollars anyway?? Make it 50k and 50k to a charity. Then 900k to the privateer purse next year.

From what I briefly heard they had a contest and brought ten people. Then those ten people went inside a booth filled with money(?) I guess that kid got the most money or something and went on to be the finalist.
