Good for Jesse (kid that won $1 million cause of Tomac). But..why not have each rider select a charity or something they will donate the other $1 million too if they win all three mains? I’m sure Road to Recovery would’ve appreciated it. Again, good for Jesse, but I feel like the kids going to blow it in Vegas tonight.

Hard working privateers who knew the risks of trying to become professional supercross racers.

Haha no jealousy. Like I said, good for the kid. Just think the million could’ve went back to the sport\a better cause. Hopefully he ends up making the 1 mil into much more in Vegas.

this. it's really pretty tone deaf. like hunger games tone deaf.

would be cool to see the kid set some aside for supplementing the terrible purse for riders. would make feld look like the greedy assholes they are and make a statement.

And for the fan that invested to be there. It's pennies for a company like Monster will ultimately change that dudes life. Good for him.

He'll get a 50k a year annuity for 20 years, he isn't going to have an extra dollar today.

Or a lump sum of $250,000 (which you'd be a moron to pick) if I remember correctly.

I remember reading an article about winning the lotto and the whole "payments vs lump sum" debate. Basically it comes out to the same amount. The lump sum will have reached the same amount of interest as the total would be if you picked payments.
They say its best to take the lump sum and invest it in long term safe investments.

How did this fan winning a million dollars deal happen? I must have missed the explanation on the show. Never heard anything about it previous to tonight.

|

Monster is able to pay 1,000,000 to a lucky fan who didn't do anything.

Meanwhile privateers work their asses off and we can't give them a reasonable paycheck for qualifying for main events.

He sure sounded like he'd be in debt by sunrise going by his interview haha

I doubt he gets his money tonight. There's going to be a lot of paperwork and signatures before it's in his bank account I'm sure.

For an amount of $1 million I would take the lump sum and invest. If I won the mega millions jackpot though, I'd choose an annuity of several million per year.

|

10/13/2018 11:06 PM

Yeah I’m happy for him but your all right about it could be going somewhere better.. who said it had to be 1 million dollars anyway?? Make it 50k and 50k to a charity. Then 900k to the privateer purse next year.

Boo fucking hoo. If they aint fast enough to make a living racing then they need to find a new line of work now don't they. But feel free to dig into your pocket and give them a hand out.

From what I briefly heard they had a contest and brought ten people. Then those ten people went inside a booth filled with money(?) I guess that kid got the most money or something and went on to be the finalist.
