Ya no doubt hope the kid keeps improving. Do you remember all the negative dick heads, some of vitals finest by the way doubting and hating on this kid saying his regional was easy and all kinds of other bullshit. The kid has a ton of natural talent and the drive to keep improving. Hope the kid makes it. Was very cool for Geico Honda to help this kid out.

he almost won that 250B moto tonight.
Grabbed the start and took off, Keith Tucker caught him near the end.
Jerry finished second and was visibly very upset.

He had a ride before that whole 2 stroke thing.... This kid didn't come out if no where. Very impressive what he did on that '85 but it's not the rags to riches story everyone wants it to be.

Tell the rest? I saw him at ho heaven, a local racer in nc and he couldn't race due to a strict budget to get to mini o's.

I can't find any concrete evidence.... But from what I've heard he had a Rock River Yamaha ride... To which extent I'm not sure. That bike broke and instead of fixing it they raced the '85. Don't misconstrue my pointing of that out as a knock on him, it's just and interesting twist, and they could have really not had the money to fix it. He has been to Loretta's 6 times in a row prior to this year. Everyone want to get behind an unknown and help project him to the top. I think riding the '85 was purely a money thing. He already had the new equipment but just couldn't fix it. Motocross is crazy expensive and I'm super pumped he's getting the help he needs to get to the races! Hope he does well in the future, he has a lot of talent.

Meant hog heaven haha. Also I do not think jerry is receiving the same amount of support as Jordan smith or rj Hampshire. Yes, he got two free bikes, both being practice and race bikes. But no where near the same as the other two.

We've been over all this before. Couldn't afford to fix the Rock River bike.
Quit fuckin knocking the kid.

Just talking about the moto finish not the overall. Not enough time today to check overall's, but that should do it.

I wish our budget was that 'strict'.....we couldn't afford to be at Hog Heaven, SOB, or anywhere else before the Mini O's. We were ALL at work just so that we could go to Florida for ONE week.

Looked good in each moto until the last lap, he kept throwing it away. Just needs a little more work on his endurance I would guess. Should be really competitive come LL's..

I talked to him for a little bit in staging and he seems like a good kid. He looked good all week and has speed but the B class right now is so stacked that there is atleast 5 guys that can win at any time. The battle between him,Tucker and Surratt was the best race of the week.

Squid-mom I know what you mean. We ride 3 or 4 times a month and these guys get to ride almost every day and they think they have it bad.Laughing
My son was 10 seconds a lap off of these guys but we had just as much fun.

Is he required to move up to A for Loretta's next year after winning the B/C 2-stroke?

Not sure if the finish in 2-stroke has any bearing on his advancement, but his RPV is 24. He will have a hard time convincing the AMA that he needs to stay back.

Unfortunately, that is the state of motocross racing these days. IMO, if you spend your entire life training, riding, etc you are no longer an 'intermediate amatuer', it is your job. From talking to people down there, a good number of the "novice" guys live at training facilities which is ridiculous, but not likely to change any time soon.
