Haven’t heard anything about Sirius since Howard Stern signed with them like 10 years ago.
Howard has been there 14 years now. Sirius claims they have so many subscribers. But lot of people stream and use other networks.
I rode and hung out with Ellis a couple times at Cahuilla. He kinda came off like an arrogant prick, so I never really listened to him. He had a good long run, though.
Sirius doesn't screw around or work to lose money
Either....
He said/did something stupid (past or present)
or
Contract was up and he lost the negotiations
They do not just fire a profitable personality just out of the blue, that'd be stupid.

I can’t believe Sirius is still in business. I’ll use them when I get them free with a new car, and maybe (!) with a discounted extension. After the first year, I’m out. I was a subscriber for years when they first came out. But after rates kept climbing and they kept “auto-renewing” to their most expensive plan, I got tired of spending an hour on the phone convincing them I really wanted to cancel and wasn’t interested in their “offer for loyal customers like me”.
If you spend a lot of time on the road, even today with flying (thanks to the app, which is glitchy, BTW) having something familiar like radio stations/programs is a nice perk

The writing was on the wall a few years ago when they pulled him off Faction and moved him to a high # channel that required an additional subscription level. My guess is they wanted to get rid of him them but needed to finish put his contract. I used to listen to him in his early days but he got old pretty quick and eventually started recycling the same material. He seems like a nice enough guy and I'm sure he will land on his feet.
Oh, he went to Sirius prison?
Then handwriting was on the wall.
He wasn't fired, he was released for poor ratings.
I listened to him years ago, but every show seemed to be the same shit over and over.

Sirius gets a new subscriber when every new car is sold. They never retain the prescription though.
I just did a 3 month free trial on my 2011 Ford Fusion hoopty. No credit card required. And I don’t be renewing until the next free trial comes my way.
No idea there was a moto show on Sirius.

I've had SiriusXM since the start, I was an early adopter. Kept me alive during many cross country trips. Truckers depend on it.
I have no idea what my local radio stations are (Bad for hurricanes)
This wasn't a moto show, he just talked about it on occasion because he's a fan, not like it was Pulp

I can't handle the garbage sound quality on sirius. With the ability to stream anything for free now I just don't see the point of if.
Man, Vital hates literally everything. I don’t know where Spooner is from, but he must live in the only dead spot in the country because I haven’t had reception issues since using the separate units about 16-17 years ago.
I don’t understand how people can hate a service that provides literally every genre of music, talk shows, sports, news etc. It just blows my mind anyone can complain about something like this. Nothing is ever good enough
I love SiriusXM radio and will continue to pay for it.
I don’t hate Sirius’ content or variety. I can concur that reception goes to shit anywhere near the foothills or trees in my area. On off on off repeat.
They were of value to me when smartphones and streaming music weren’t around/prominent. I had a starmate (or whatever it was called) in my work car. Got me through many years of graveyard shift. When they wouldn’t honor their multi-receiver discount (“your truck is XM and your portable is Sirius-we don’t do that.” “But you’re one company now.” “Well yeah, but no...”), I was on my last straw. When they auto-renewed me to their most expensive plan (when I had the basic one), then tried to deny me a refund, I was done.
Been with Sirius since Howard shifted over to there, no plans on leaving. My radio in the shop goes 24-7, same for the house. I've even listened to some SX races on it before when working out in the shop. Happy to pay 20 something a month for all the variety, FM radio in this part of the country absolutely sucks.....
Never listened to Ellis, heard the marxdog story on pulp awhile back but that’s all I know the man.
As for Sirius, Ozzys Boneyard FTMFW!
Mantis Toboggan, M.D
I 100% agree! I love my SiriusXM and will continue to pay for great content. All you gotta do is call them and they will give you a great price, it's not that hard and doesn't take long. I do it every year to get a good deal. Local FM stations suck
Never heard of him. I've had Sirius/XM for 12 years. Love it, but being honest, I rarely change it from 39.
Of course maybe if I knew about a moto show I would have listened. Well maybe not, never listened to porn, so the moto probably wouldn't have made me switch either. #HairNation! 🤘😜🤘
Lol at talk radio on sirius..... dead format.... who even cares?

there was a moto show on Sirius?
Don’t piss off the old people - the older they get the less “life in prison” is a deterrent for them!

on your off topic.. My race number is 952... Story behind how you got it ?!
Ellis is a polarizing character but he gave MX its time all through SX and with many rider interviews over the years.
