I don't know more than what the press release from Sydows team manager said. They rejected.
Sydow was contacted just two weeks before the announcement as a replacement rider. He was pissed he wasn't chosen over Ullrich, although he has ridden great internationally all year. Furthermore, the team wanted to be approached aswell to guarantee a proper preparation.
Some unnecessary jabs were given from both sides. It's a mess.
