Does Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha come with electric start and spring forks on the Suzuki and Kawasaki in 2018?

As long as they don't gain weight I say I hope so... Although My 2016 KX450 is really really easy to start I am not sure I really don't need and electric start.

Now... spring forks absolutely I hope so!!!!

That's a tough one with WP aer48 forks working well for most people. As weights come down, it will be a harder sell to run heavier forks and try to make up a few pounds somewhere else on the bike to stay in the same range.

My 16 KX450 starts easy too, but my shorts legs provide difficulty starting.

I am a Yamaha guy, (I have owned ktm/husky also) . Electric start is awesome . My husky 300 for off road riding is great for if you stall in tricky sections, just a quick push of the button and you are off. Sx450 I had was great when you would flame out in a corner, off start, bump someone in a rut, it makes for a better moto. All my yamahas have been great to start but kicking a hot bike on a hot day 2-5 times halfway through moto sucks

The '17 RMZ is the easiest to start 4T kicker I've ridden.

I too have a 16 KX450. very easy to start. at the local GP's I often get to the first turn within the first 3-4 bikes. alot of times beating the huskies or ktms to the line that are equipped with estart. Although I'd be a nice convince idk if It's worth the extra cost that will come with it.

Soft ass lazy suckers. Kickstart your damn motorcycle and quit crying. At least the battery won't die.

My 16 is also extremely easy to start. I have a video somewhere of me doing it with my right hand without problem

This thread reminded me of my 2000 YZ426 with the manual decompression lever. Hated that damn thing.

The new bikes start very easy in comparison.

Thinking back to my YZ426- I'd start that thing in the pits and let it idle in staging and until the gate dropped..Now that thing was HARD to start! If you stalled the engine during a race you might as well just push it back to the truck!

My CRF 450 is a piece of piss to start but while I've been on holiday in California riding with all the different brands here and spending a lot of time on the Husqvarna 450, I must say it is nice to have that easy button. Wouldn't make me buy one bike over another though.

Riding dirt bikes is a bit cavemanish. I'll give you that. But the bond between man and machine when you kickstart a fresh built 250 is really enjoyable.

Really funny you say that, I started both my 125 and 250 after fresh rebuilds last weekend. The 125 fired right up, my 250 required me to change out of sneakers. I would not mind having a button on the 2 fiddy.

I've bump started too many KTMs to want electric start. Yes, it works 99% of the time but when it doesn't...

I dont see kawasaki adding estart in 2018. Maybe the next all new bike. I see them putting on better air forks to stay competitive in the weight department. If showa or kyb can make air forks as good as the aer forks anyway

Early YZFs were really, really easy to start????
If they didn't fire in 2-3 kicks hot or cold you were doing it wrong.... kick slowly until against compression, pull the de-comp lever and take the kickstart just past compression, release de-comp and let kickstart return to top of stroke, no throttle and kick...

If we still started cars with a hand crank they might not cost 50K for a base model pick up truck either......

I was in the same boat as Jbecker, used to ride a YZF426 and I don't know what super powers you have but I just couldn't start that damn thing. Unsure

Clearly we are talking about different bikes. Haha

I got the bike brand new, and it was the hardest to start motorcycle I've ever owned. I got quite good at starting it, but still it was a pain in the ass, especially when hot.

My brother still has his 98 400f, it had a couple of hours on it when he purchased it in 98, I have raced it loads inc 2X Weston Beach Races and honestly never had an issue, I was racing FC600 Husaberg's in the late 90s and up until 03 though and compared with those the YZFs were a doddle.... I guess guys coming from 2strokes probably did struggle though.

I got off a YZ250 and on to the 426. Big change. In hindsight I should have stayed on the two stroke. After all that's what I wound up back on a decade later, 250 two strokes. But that dang four stroke craze swept me up for a while.
