So what do you guys think? Who's winning the 125 game, Europe or Japan? Or should i say Europe vs Yamaha?
KTM / Husky are quick but it's hard to beat the handling of the Yammy! What say you?

I've had both and currently have a 2021 TC125. They both have their Pros/Cons but I prefer the Husky overall. Main reason is the Husky is smaller and I am short. I also think it handles much better than the YZ. It gives up a little straight line stability but corners much better. The YZ suspension is a bit better but not the huge margins people talk about. True the YZ suspension is better out of the box so if you're one of those guys that doesn't have an idea how to adjust your clickers then you'll much prefer the YZ. Husky/KTM jetting is kinda crap stock but once you sort that out it is faster than the YZ.

On paper the Euro 125s are the way to go. For me, I chose the Yamaha just because I prefer the suspension (having a Husky 350 already gave me the comparison I needed) and also the rideability, as I love the power spread on the YZ. I am also very familiar with the 2stroke YZ chassis and have always felt very comfortable on it. And I don't mind throwing some $ into the Yamaha to get the hp more in line with the euro bikes. It's all preference, more than it is which bike is "better." But as a general statement, obviously the Euro 125s are better on paper, and really that could be said about KTM/Hus/GG in all sizes of MX bikes. They have the most features and on paper are always the best, lately. Just those things don't necessarily transfer over to every single rider as a better bike.

I'm not one of the guys always pushing for the reintroduction of two-strokes into pro racing, but I do wonder whether we will see any Japanese OEMs start making 125s again. At the time they stopped I think it made sense, but with EMX125 and the 125 classes here in the U.S. I have to think there would be some sense in getting involved. Oh well, don't want to beat the dead horse that is this subject.

Did it make sense though? They kept making 85’s (other than Honda) and the natural progression from an 85 is a 125. I know a lot of Kawi mini kids around here that switched to Yamaha only because they have a 125. Or else woulda been green for life..
