I would really like to know who exactly promised him the opportunity to show what he had before the team was to be selected. If it went down like James said that person, or people, pulled some bullshit.

I haven't heard anyone from the other side say that what James was not accurate so...............

James needs to return to the Nationals P.

That's the only way he'll get the racers here off his back (the racists however, will never quit).

I'd love to see him race the Nats too, but I guess I'm being a bit selfish.

He's a man who makes his own decisions. I understand his logic, but would still like to see him in the Nationals.

Stewart had no business even hoping that it would happen. MXDN is a motocross race,and as he states they are a supercross team. It would be a travesty for him to be selected after not participating for 2 years. The team needs to be comprised of the best riders that are playing the game. James doesn't play. The right decision has been made.He doesn't deserve a spot on the team anymore than any one reading this. James may be on the way down,faster than he went up.

You know I'd like to know who made the promise too. My belief, someone said something but it wasn't a promise. JMO, could be wrong.

Either Stewart was waaayyyy out of shape, or he threw a tantrum. Either way, he shouldn't go just because he fancies it this year. Stewart himself lied last week when he said he was doing it just for the fans and sponsors, it has since transpired that this wasn't the case at all because he's now saying it was primarily a tryout for the MXdN.

I don't believe too much of what comes out of his camp these days, so if I'm gonna believe the Stewart/Brooks circus or Roger DeCoster, it's an easy choice.

Dude read the "open letter from James Stewart" thread. I begged and pleaded for the NAMES of the people who selected the team and told JS that if he was ready by Unadilla then he was on the team. It went no where. Not one industry person responded.

The selection of the USA MXdN team is top secret. We do not have the right to know WHO or how they make the selection or what was said to James Stewart at Lakewood.

They (who ever that is) chose a great team and we should win. It would be good to know who told James that he had a chance if he raced the last 4 nat's to prove his current level of ability and then prior to practice announced the team.

I don't blame JS for being pissed. Who ever said the words should reimburse the L&M team 100% of the costs to participate at Unadilla.

Let's just hope that the 3 guys selected don't get hurt in the last 3 rounds. Because James Stewart should not bail our ass out.

James Stewart may be the only person who knows who said the words at Lakewood. It's up to him to disclose the information. He should. It would gain him thousands of core fans for being "real" instead of "reality".

Maybe one of these so called moto journalist we have can sack up and ask bubba and LB that question. Then follow it up by asking the person in question about it. But i wouldn't hold my breath. Matthes,Cox, Swap,GuyB how about some investigative reporting here...

James Stewart should take the next 4 months off and enjoy spending the industries money. Why even race? He is not racing the Nationals next year. The only reason he was doing the last 4 this year was the mxdn. Take the next 4 months off and be ready tor the lazers, the smoke, the sound track, the 15 minute races, etc called the AMA Pro CircusCross.

If no MXON was in the picture, perhaps Stewart would not have made 'dilla and waited for Southwick when he is more prepared.

Perhaps he made 'dilla because he was under the impression that he would have a shot at the team even though he was not fully prepared (his words).

DC pretty much made it clear on DMXS.

From what it sounds like ,it was Decoster's doing.
However,the FIM wanted them to pick a team asap,so Rodger went with Short,based on reasons known.

I don't understand why he would waste his time and a couple hundred of thousands of industry dollars to race the last 3 rounds. It won't change a thing. We all know what he can do if his heart is in it. SX only team. His choice. No reason to change that now unless they plan to do the whole series next year.

So why did he want it this year soooo much? Red Bull, Bubba's World. It's that simple. They didn't spend all the money to race these outdoor races if there wasn't a payoff. Think about it. For the fans my ASS!!!!! James is about the money now, and that is it.

I'm on the opposite end of this debate from P (I think Short is the right pick) , but I agree with his post - all he's asking is that we find out who talked to James about the MXoN. Not an unreasonable question.

I think that if someone does come forward, I think we'll find that their understanding of the converstion was different than James's understanding.

Maybe it was simple miscommunication. How about everyone gets the benefit of the doubt that each was acting in good faith. The problem with this dialog is it assumes someone has to be acting in bad faith.

Then why not do the Xgames, which gives a thousand times more exposure, drama than the MXdN (especially in the US) and is in his primary sponsors backyard, rather than forgo that in favor of prep for the remaining nats?

Doing the nats and the MXdN would be the stupidest thing to do if you wanted to spin the thing for a reality show that is aimed at a different audience from outdoor mx for the most part.
