Went from 2005 til Seattle 09.

The only other races he lost other than that without crashing was Vegas (he didn't need to win to get the championship).

And A2 2010, but for god sakes he had a broken wrist thats extremely painful to ride with even once its healed!

Do you still think he'll "continue" this record? or will RV, Dungey, Canard, Kdub, Reed beat him straight up.

Discuss.

I think going into 2011 with there being alot more riders in contention for the win, a bad start could be more costly than in years past. But also at the beginning of this year, Dungey proved that it is possible to challenge Stewart but also there was the speculation of Stewart's problems at A1.

I think this year Reed, Villopoto, Dungey, Weimer, Canard, Grant, Windham and co are going to prove that Supercross isn't just about Stewart anymore.

It's gonna be great.

all stewarts losses were straight up. They all started at the same time, he didnt win.

That being said i expect to see more races from him like unadilla moto 1. He was fast but not the fastest.

If Bubba doesnt get hurt he will KILL. No one will have his speed. He will work KDub easily. RV and Dungey will hold him off for some laps. i dont think canard and grant are gonna have the success that most people think they will.

I think your exactly right with that....part of the game is to not Crash and that's been Stewart's biggest weakness.

A1-James Stewart, Phoenix-Reed, LA-RV, Oakland- RV, A2-Canard, Houston-RD, San Diego- KDub, ATL- Grant, Daytona-RV, INDY- RD, Jax-Toronto-Texas-St. louis- JS7- The final 3 Reed and he wins the title by being the most consistent. Just a random guess on how I think things MIGHT go.

If he stays healthy and has that bike set up right, nobody has a chance......if 377 was racing he would get 2nd.....

That record was a Ralph Shaheen crock of shit. I saw RC run down a fading Stewart and blow by him with a few laps to go, Vancouver '07. Stewart never hit the ground.

It's just an indication of James' approach to racing - win or crash. I suspect he's quite tired of not finishing seasons, plus he's a little older now. I think you'll see him take what he can get a little more often now.

I love watching James and I think he will win this year if he rides smart.

Feels like years since we've seen Bubba Race. I'm guessing a bit rusty out of the gate & without injury he'll be winning by the 3rd or 4th round. RV will come on late in the series like he always does & give him some good competition mid season. I think the first few rounds will be up for grabs, if Dungey wins right off the batt & keeps his confidence going, he could blow holes in everyones plans.

I hate this topic, to me it's irrelevant !! What matters in this sport is CHAMPIONSHIPS. If he learned to back it down just a tad now and again and didn't try to win every lap, I think he would have won every indoor championship he has competed in.

That said, I think RV lays down the PAIN in 2011, indoors and out, James or no James.

You do realize that's a bullshit record because anyone can crash anytime they feel like crashing.

Stewart lost to RC many times straight up. And always lost where it counts the most, the championship.

this is such BS! bubbs missed one SX season from a little tip over outdoors that screwed up his knee, RV anyone? RC, he missed an SX season for the same reason.
And Yes he made a mistake last year,in traffic no less, which every one has done, hes used to being in front and made the mistake of scrubing in traffic, omg, he made a mistake! in a season were god knows how many top riders made mistakes and were out of the series! Why is he singled out, when you have Shorty with ZERO wins or Reed who has the record for most second places in SX! I much more respect a guy who hates to lose and goes Balls out,, remind you of anyone who was respected for his checkers or wreckers attitude as well? Bob Hannah!!

And another thing, how does a guy who apparently crashs so much hold the record for most 125 career wins?, and a perfect season on a 450!!! The only other doood in HISTORY other than the GOAT to complete a freaking perfect season!!!!!! Pretty damm good for a guy who rides faster than anyone else!

Would anyone here really respect Chad Reed if he won an SX title with only 2nd place wins?

His win or crash record is so high because he's missed half his seasons in the 450 class!!!

2005 = crash out
2006 = made it to vegas
2007 = made it to vegas
2008 = crash out
2009 = made it to vegas
2010 = crash out

He has a 50% chance of making it to Vegas based on the past 6 seasons.

So , from that summary.....he has 2 championships in 6 years.....going for his 7th season on the big bikes , and 10 years as a pro.

2 championships in 6 years is 33% win.........which means his stock has plummeted even further.....it used to be a 50% chance he would at least finish the season.

Either......I hope he does good this year. He got a couple vets who are gonna be on the gas....and a bunch of young guys out to prove something.

And if he makes it to Vegas he still might crash out remember 2003!!!
But if at A1 if he kills everyone, how suprised would you be?

Yes I remember 2003,very well,that was at the shoot-out.
I think he crashed over the finish line jump and snapped his collar bone in 2 places.
He still however won the SX championship that year (125 West),he won every race except A1 which i think he got 2nd at (Preston won that night).James won the championship that year by 59 points.

Something also happened in 2005 also,he scored no points in Vegas,that one slips my mind.I do know he won the previous week in Houston though.

Edit: Just looked up results,shows a DNf for Heat race 2 that night,DNS for the rest of the night for him.

You mean, AFTER RC retired. That word "never" was kind of your undoing there. Oh, and what about Unadilla 2010? Again, "never" being problematic.

If you get technical though, every race he lost due to crashes is a speed issue. You can't be speedy while laying on the ground. The laptimes don't lie.
