What?

Huh?

Maybe reword it a little and say “imagine if James Stewart at age 15 could have given us the insight into his day-to-day life, training, and racing the way that Haiden Deegan does with his content.” I’m sure it would have been pretty incredible to watch.

Please for the love of god do not turn this into a JS7 vs Deegan thread. Not even in the same universe. End of.

I’d bet all my doge we’ll never see anyone like James again. For decades, pro’s will walk the track asking if it’s “stewable”.

|

5/11/2021 5:27 AM

I think OP is just saying if we could've had the social media and insight to everything James was doing coming off of 80s and into 125s, that would have been cool. And assuming that is what you meant, yes I agree. Would've been cool to see.

Yes I said “CONTENT” not talent/speed. It would have been amazing!

Well, James did have a TV show, but I guess he was older then.

Also, this:

Imagine the “content” he could produce right now. We would all watch no matter what. That’s the effect such an icon has.

I wish he would put stuff out!

Honestly, this is why he is the Kobe Bryant to Michael Jordan.

RC is MJ.
Stew is Kobe.

Yeah, MJ had more accolades than Kobe did, but Kobe took the skillsets that Michael made popular and mastered them. Either way, they're the best to ever do it.

The only difference is, you can only ride a bike as fast as it is made to... and I honestly think Stew could've survived if the bikes could've withstood the speed he wanted to go.

-----

Stew was different. He will be revered for a long, long time.

And for reals, I still love participating and watching this sport, but it is not at all the same or nearly as exciting as watching Stew go around the track in the flow.

Comparing Stew to Deegan is like trying to compare a banana to an orange

He's just saying that he wishes we had more content from James's younger years....

James let his riding be the content.

Props to the Deegans for crushing it on social media... everyone else is envious of what they've done....

But ya... if a 15 yr old Stew had that type of social media coverage, we would all be glued to see what he would post next... shoot, Stew could still do that today if he was riding, he could still drop our mouths with what he would be doing...

Not a great idea to compare the 2, as in term of riding nobody has ever really been in the same zip code as JS7, especially on the 125, as he is the rider who changed the riding style the most.

That said, maybe in a few years we will also realize that Deegan changes the way riders market themselves, which eventually brings a big and positive change in the sport's exposure. I am a fan and they are doing really well to create interesting content.

Nobody is comparing the two. he’s just pointing out how Deegan puts out really good content and if James was still doing his thing he would be able to put out amazing content.

Hi, don't worry I got it too, it is just that it attracts comparisons, or potential critics on Deegan's kid, while actually we seem to be both enjoying just what we see. I totally agree that it would have been sick to see JS7 grinding, especially on superminis and 125s, and I would keep watching James if he was giving us more content.

|

5/11/2021 10:53 AM

No

|

5/11/2021 11:53 AM

Don't know why everybody is so confused and upset about this. It's pretty obvious that what he's implying is how crazy it would've been if young JS7 lived in today's age and was able to put out content like Deegan does. He wasn't trying to compare Deegan to Stew as a rider. Loosen up people, stop trying to find ways to bash people

Same as Roczen and Herlings on a age off 15 winning GPs.

Both won their First GP at their Home GP at 15, how sick would those vlogs be.

Not a fan of social media or old man Deegan. Ill watch the boys in the Pro’s though.

Honestly I’m glad he wasn’t able to put out content. He was like an enigma you always heard of at the local races from kids that went to Amateur nationals. 2002 was an exciting year because of it. Damn I sound old.
