I only have a few things to say after seeing what I saw at A1.

1. James is ready, and from the looks of it more ready than anyone out there.

2. James Stewart Jr. WILL WIN the 2014 Supercross title this year and if he stays healthy and kicks his training up a little bit he will win the 2014 National outdoor title as well..............going away.

Same story it's been for the last 10 years.

Here is the only fact, James will will the 2014 SX title this year, if he has the most points.

So he made his one mistake for the year at A1 and will not have the multiple crash induced DNFs of the past 4 years and win both the SX and MX titles?

Oh, he's clearly training enough to win, but if he really wants to twist the screws on these guys he will probably need another notch or two by mid season. 28 years old, coming off of his worst showing when he stayed upright and he walks the field down. Good stuff.

Also, does anyone remember James' first SX? Almost a mirror image of this Saturday night, the Main at least.

I'm rooting for you James.

This thread gave me a great idea.

We should all start new, individual threads discussing our take on the most popular riders.

Wanna put your money where your mouth is?

$100 says he doesnt!

James is not smart enough to win the title...okay, maybe not a smart enough racer to win the title. Yeah, if he had backed it down and decided to take 2nd or wait a few laps to pass Roczen he would have shown he has finally wised up about how to be a SMART racer, but once again he went all James and crashed 5 laps early and couldnt/didnt finish.

Im with ya P, I wanted James to win, but the difference between you and me is Im a realist and I know its already over for James. Trust me, he will have AT LEAST one more this year and then he will definitely be out of it.

I dont think James was riding over his head or over riding the track for once....he took that same line through the whoops the same speed on many laps prior to his wreck without issue so I dont think it was a result of him pushing....sometimes it just happens and it happened to james.....not all crashes are result of "pushing" too hard....when Emig and RC say " James was on point and just lost traction" then you have to respect that.......yes, James has pushed it many times in the past...but not this time in my opnion.....I just hope A1 doesnt make hime "push it".....he got 4 pts...better than no points and with all the talent this field has....you knock off a couple wins mixed with the possible variables of who finishes where in the top 5 each week and you can be back in it.....bummer that this happned and its deja vu for James....so hopefully he can rebound and make it happen.....he has done it before and saturday he looked a notch better than everyone in that main......

Great read. I've been reading his stuff on instagram too and he is just as mentally fit as he is physically. I don't want to speculate, but I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he was working with a sport psychologist.

He's still in it for the title. 20pts now is a lot easier to make up han when he only had one main competitor in 2009.

You forgot the, "In my opinion..." before number two. People stating stuff like this as fact are doing it wrong.

No, I didn't forget it I just figured that people would be smart enough to understand that it is "my opinion".............

Did you see what barcia did to him? Wink

So you think he can beat RV at a 16 point deficit? That's laughable, this ain't 2007 when he was racing against Tim ferry.

If Im not mistaken, JS was credited with 17th and RV got 16th (?) at A1 last year and still won the championship. I think its still possible too.

James absolutely looks better than he has in the past couple seasons.
Really seems to be comfortable with the team and looks great on the bike this year.

Plus he worked through the pack smoothly and really seemed to have a more methodical approach.
Lap times are almost all 58.5 or there abouts so no banzai laps just consistent speed.

The get off in the whoops could happen to anybody and a few folks did go down in them.
I am amazed his wrist wasn't hurt looking at that crash in super slo-mo.

I'm looking forward to seeing what he has for the rest of the season.
