Kind of sucks the freestyle guy's will make more money than 99% of the guy's racing.

Good for them but just shows how fucked up the system is.

I'm pretty sure the Freestyle guy's get all expenses and I think a min of $1200 a night

The 99% is an assumption , I'm sure it's closer to 90%

So $1,200, then lets say a flight is $500, $250 for hotel, and another $100 for food, thats just over $2,000. You really think 90% of the field isnt making 2 grand a weekend? lets just assume theres 100 riders trying to make into the main 250/450 combined. Lets assume lowest numbers are the ones that are the 10% making more then fmxers. That leaves the likes of Kevin Windham, Timmy Ferry, David Millsaps, Justin Barcia, Tommy Searle, Andrew Short, Josh Grant, Trey Canard ,Jason Lawrence, Austin Stroupe, etc etc making less then $34,000 in a SX season. BULLSHIT.

When you say "I'm pretty sure" that is an assumption. How much are the racers making a night? 17 races at $1200 per = a whopping $20K. If you have some cold hard facts of what each makes that would be awesome.

Id rather see a 10-lap Womens SX race. No heats, no semis, just a 10-lap dash; line up a full gate and first one to the checkers wins.

The racers get $230 for making a night show in the 250F and about $540 for the 450 class.
They get no expenses.

Freestyle gets $1200 min plus expenses paid. do the fucking math. Freestyle = little work decent money.

racing = lots of work , lots of expense and no profit. I would bet less than 25 guy's actually make a living racing SX/MX

No, in racing gear! I think it would be good for Womens SX racers and their sponsors both. No offense to the KTM kids program, but unless you have a kid in there - it can be boring as hell after youve seen it. You put the gals out there on 250Fs and watch how many eyeballs are glued to the track for those 10 laps.

Put up a poll somewhere, betcha Im right!

I have a friend who gets paid $1000 a demo, and he just does local amatuer FMX shows.

So I don't find it very hard to believe the guys doing the demo's at SX are getting at least that much and likely more.

My neighbor has a lot to do with it.

If anybody has heard me mention before, I'm not a huge fan but business wise them guys are on it! It's down right embarassing the payout in SX and MX.

A frickin po dunk county fair pays FMX better!

I am sure I will get blasted for this but the 60 riders were pretty boring. Never was a big fan of watching them roll the jumps on an SX track. How were those kids picked anyway? Some were decent and some were not even.

I agree but if you look at the overall experiance and the Chick factor , it was a huge success.

I know my wife just thought it was wonderful. and it certainly builds the Sport at the best level.

Ya know, there are some guys that make a whole helluva lot more than $230 or $450 a night.

Then there's the assumption that the Freestyle guys don't work. Can't agree there & I can't assume that all the kids on the 250s and 450s train harder than all the FMXers, either...

So, let's see...how many of the guys in the "Average Night Show" make just the $230 and $450 mentioned?

Then, how much do they get if they make the "Main"? Let's even take into consideration that in 2010...a lot of guys aren't makin' as much as they have made in the past or they aren't makin' as much as you'd think.

Man, some of them must be Pissed! Oh, well...

(At-least ALL the FMXers are "Paid to Perform to their EXPECTED ability")

OUCH!

I'm jus' sayin'...
