How come they always go up at the front under the flller... I always thought it would be better for handling, looks and your nuts if they made it go up under the seat a bit and made the seats thinner... they're rock hard anyways...

First off, it's awfully cramped down below. Secondly it would create more surface area near the engine which would cause the fuel to magically boil much faster wouldn't it?

Is Suzuki offering a 30 minute plus 2 lap capacity tank to the general public yet? Or do they not care if privateers finish the race?

What makes you think they aren't doing both?

thanks for the dick answer fader, sorry it's not a bashing thread....

Faceaz, don't think that, don't know... I guess I'm talking about right up under the front and towards above the shock reservoir, not towards the engine cause yeah I think it woud boil it a bit...

Everytime I see those tanks extending up I just think of Greg Albertyn or RC casing shit, bam, lights out, nuts gone... somewhere in this vid at Foxhills Greg just about denies himself of children... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vsw0Ej5D2FM

That's the "Freestone" Tank. A lesson learned the hard way that ultimately cost them a championship.

The point is not for more fuel morans. The point is to give the bike more front end bias, more grip on the front wheel, and more attitudinal sensorship fluctuation around the frontal oblique center of gravity.

pretty confident its for fuel. Hence they even top off the gas after the parade lap.

The tank is from this bike. Probably an Italian company…
I think the European Suzuki’s are way sicker (and nicer looking) IMO

I guess you would like the tank to look more like this? My guess is that there is no other way to make room for the fuel. When the GP riders rides in like Lommel they have an even taller gas tank on the zuuk!!

Yeha you can see Honda have extended it out between the shroud arms and just between it and the frame spars... pretty clever... Just always thought they could go back towards the shock mount and thin out the seat as well...

cant make handling that bad. besides the tank will be closer to empty during the end of the moto anyways.half way on in the race ,it wont even matter.when a rider is a bit tired.

You guys just don't get it. It's a well know fact that JS uses WAY more gas than anyone else, because the throttle stays open 99% more than the competition.

When we see his actual works bike, you'll find out that his helmet will have two quart size fuel tanks built in (one on left side, one right... for balance).

The fuel line will attach right where the red bull's nut sack is. Kind of like a catheter.

I guess they figure the privateers dont twist the throttle quite as far as the factory guys, therefore using less gas. Wonder if Alessi will have the extra capacity tank on his machine. (note that I reffered to his bike as a machine and not a Suzuki)

Up till last year when Dungey ran out in texas, I dont think i've ever seen a Suzuki run out of fuel at a national. '08 and up till that point everyone ran the stock tank. Stock looking at least. Metty ran out on a Honda at Southwick not the Suzuki.

anyone remeber Tortelli running out of fuel on the Honda?
Sometimes, when a guy has the bike pinned for 30 of 40 mins
the sumbeoch is gonna go dry!! Like Bteam stated, they are
gonna have to come up with something very inventive to keep
enough gas in a tank for James yo hammer 40 mins on a 450!!!
My god i cant wait for hangtown!!

Suzuki is working on moving the gas tank under the seat and putting the air filter up front. They're also going to rotate the top end backwards some, move the exhaust to the back of the cylinder and the throttle body to the front of the cylinder. All at the request of JS7.
