Lol too funny. There are so many bitter people around these parts... glad I'm not that miserable in my everyday life.

I'm incredibly happy to see him on a bike, having fun again. I couldn't care less if he, as a grown man that makes his own decisions, decides not to line up at A1... I'm just glad to see him still riding.

Hope he lines up at A1, but my 8 ball says nope.
Always a fun rider to watch.

I just love seeing he's riding and having the kids ride at his place making there day. If he races it's awesome, if not it's still awesome

? He is riding at home and maybe it's a new lid that hasn't been painted yet? How about no so called industry insiders knew of his plans! I love it that he and his family and those that needed to know haven't said anything ! Now that's how you keep your business to yourself! Job well done...
Is this you?

The only thing I don't understand is him asking the AMA to keep 7. The idiots will say it's to keep selling Seven gear but that's just stupid in my opinion. Plenty of retired pros use their old numbers long after they retire, Ricky, McGrath, Villopoto so it's not like he has to be national number 7 to use it. And it's not like just being listed on the national numbers is enough to stay relevant, he's gotta race if he actually wants to be influential in SevenMX's sales.

Only reason to keep the 7 is he has some ambition to race, or am I just being hopeful?
Could be to keep a non Seven wearing rider from having number 7. I'm grasping here.
There's no way that's true. One day he'll retire and if his brand is still around, I'm pretty sure he can't keep the number after he's done. That's just stupid. The only way he asks to keep 7 is to race. I hope he does.

Great to see him back, I hope he is training for SX and isn't just a Seven gear promotional video...before BobPA says anything I dont care what brand he is on, just be good to see him out there competing for the win. And who cares if he doesn't have a Red Bull helmet on or not?

It's neither a training nor a gear promotional video. It's his annual ride day hosted at the compound for race kids.

I’m sure he rides his tracks as he feels. Does not mean he’s going racing. Let the man live his life.

Anyways, it is cool to see him riding and enjoying himself! He’s way out of shape haha, but who cares. I hope he enjoys his time off, he deserved it. Those kids by the way won’t ever forget this day in their lives!

You know that sound bite where Mcgrath says if only he stayed racing and rolled around enjoying it but his ego got in the way. I hope James could realize that but the internets might say, "oh he sucks now because he is not winning" but who cares what a few say. Who are they?
He is older than the new generation where words hurt so bad. Boohoo. So he needs to come out and have fun and/or publicly retire and still be able to hang at a few races enjoying the fans appreciation for his accomplishments on a bike.
The sound bite you mentioned is McGrath referring to his race at Washougal in 1996 where he pulled off. Had he not done that he most likely would have won the outdoor championship and he's stated several times that was his biggest regret of his career.

Nice to see James on a bike.

And he'd still lap everyone on this forum in anything longer than a two lap race.

That's such a bummer. I guess we already knew he wasn't coming back but the confirmation still sucks.
