Has anyone thought about CP377's walking away from the Yamaha last year since JS7's walk away from the Yamaha this year?

Maybe CP377 wasn't so bad and so wrong after all?

Compare the -2- VERY DIFFERENT ways that the -2- VERY DIFFERENT RIDERS handled the -2- VERY DIFFERENT Situations...

I'll bet that Mike Genova has an opinion on this.

Pretty sure I read in one of his interviews where he said it was scary to try and go fast on that bike. I don't own one, and have no personal experience on them.

Just seemed strange that we have 2 top level riders with what seems a similar issue with the same bike. The two riders have been treated very differently by the masses for the changes made.

No question they handled the change process quite differently..

Didn't we all already agree that the Yamaslug is a crap bike for MOST pro riders?

Watching Hangtown 1st moto, Davi had the front knife on him a few times, and was able to hold on. Maybe James and CP aren't strong/big enough to hold the beast when it acts up. James said it was more suited to bigger/stronger guys.

And so did a whole load of people on here back then, plenty of opinions, speculation and shit talk from a lot of know-nothings and all the time Pourcel said nothing,we didn't hear his side of the story yet he still got slagged of a ton, looks to me like it turns out Pourcel didn't deserve all he got, just my opinion though Smile

How about comparing 2 guys of around the SAME level, having the SAME issues with the SAME bike, doing the SAME thing-Quitting?

See things how you like but some things will always remain the same

It's amazing to me that people still brings up this Yamaha deal ! JS7 and Pourcel has moved on...

The fact is proven, nothing more to argue. The Yamaha is a different bike compared to the other brands. Some riders do good on it and liked it (Milsaps, Chisholm, Izzy, Kiniry, Philippaerts, Frossard)

And some riders don't like it ( Pourcel, JS7, Tedesco, Hahn to name a few)

What more it is to debate...really ???

Actually, I've never heard him say that about the Kawi. What he said was, he wasnt well at the time, and he never put any time into getting the bike dialed in. He said he liked the KYB suspension better than the Suzuki. That was also the 2010 KXF..... the 2012 is a different animal.

Some riders racing the Endurobike. Thats like the 250s frame with 450s engine. Seems to work better.

I don't think it is unfair to say Yamaha took a step back among the very fastest riders in the world when they produced that bike.

Serco only run 250s, Cdr is the 450 team.
CDR are coming 1st and 4th in that class too.

"Racing intermediate pace..."

Gibbs and Styke would get top 20 in the US easily I'd say. We'll have to see how Moss goes I guess.

None of the reasons you just gave have anything positive to do with the Kawi itself. He never put any time into getting the YZ dialed either, and the YZ also has KYB suspension. Yet the Yamaha is said to be the worst bike by most pros, while the Kawi is said to be the best. Different strokes for different folks.

I'll say it, a lot of ppl hate on CP because he is French, Americans love to hate the French as it feeds their ego. Flame on.

I`de be interested to see how many of us have ridden the YZ450 and what we thought...

I ride a YZ250 2 Banger, had a CRF450 before that. Both great bikes.

When i hopped on the YZ450 i felt like i was on a qaud... i`m not even joking, it was so wide and different to anything else i`de ridden.

I`m struggling to be a mid pack novice so i can`t really have an opinion on how it would affect pro riders, but it sure felt like a slug to me. I can believe how it wouldn`t work for Pourcel or Stewart from my own experiences.

/2cents.

I always been a honda guy, looking at 2012 honda 450 now....but friend loves his KX450F (2011), but I also have an opportunity to score good deal on the 2012 Zook 450....Im 5'11"- 195 Lbs, 38 years old, Race VetX Novice Class (intermediate at Over The Hill gang) series. HATE the Yamaha with a passion (after I rode it of course). Whats your opinion of which Bike to buy? Do you race?

Thx for your 2 cents in advance..

Not to mention how josh grant said he would rather go homo than ride a yamaha.

Also, rossi said the yamaha made him slow.

Also, bob hannah said "fuck you" to the yamaha team manager.

Also, roger decoster said "de yamaha es a peece of sheet" in a recent interview.

Also, bubba shobert said he would rather ride a harley than a yamaha.

Also, ricky graham said he would never ride the yamaha because it has too much huckabuck.

Also, bill parcels was recently quoted in espn the magazine as saying "if I ever go mx racing, MY team will not use yamahas because unlike gibbs, I am a winner."
