JMart out for 2019

sad news but nowhere near as sad as it could be, he is able to function, will race again and hold his career open - get well and come back strong JMart

fair play Geico but really what choice do they have? drop him? no chance

Such a shame for Jmart, hopefully everything goes well with the latest surgery and he comes back stronger than ever.

The question I have who does Geico bring in for outdoors as there 5th rider. Jett Lawrence or Jo Shimoda? I’d think they would lean towards Jett, with his European and 25min + 2 lap experience.

So bummed for Jeremy. The guys has incredible discipline and amazing skill on a bike. One of my favorite riders for sure. Very cool of Geico to extend his contract.

Really sad that it has gone this way... Hope he does make it back. Props to Geico for having faith!

As for the 2019 ride, there are some young guys out there sure, but an instant fill in with top 5 potential would be to put a Geico 450 under Dean Wilson.

Since we're playing the"if" game..
IF he was privateer, he would be jobless now too.
We could probably list thousands of jobs and employers where people would be unemployed.

Reality is, good thing JMart can ride a dirt bike fast and honda sees future value.

Any fusion is tricky. A 5 vertebra fusion is about as major as it gets. Burst fractures are the worst kind. He's lucky to be walking.

This is a big blow to the series as we all were looking forward to watching him race in and outdoors. It has been a long time since we have had a guy (& multi time champ) out for 18 months that also had the real potential to be a title threat. I listened to his interview on pulp and it sounded like he was in good spirits, all things considered, but spare me the "dirty riding" piece... it happened inside the first 1/3 of the first lap.

I don't think Jett is old enough by outdoors to go pro? Isn't he 15 in 2019?

That sucks for JMart and for his back to only have been 10% healed , wtf?? Id be trying to get some answers from the doctor, drs team, and hospital from where the surgery happened. Thats not right. Sucks that hes gotta take the whole year off, but JMarts never been known as a slacker and i believe he'll come back stronger than ever. Now i wonder if Geico is just going to run a 4 man team this year or try and get a fill in? And if they run a 4 man team, do you think Craig moves up to the 450 class for outdoors so then theyd have 2 vacant 250s? Id really like to see Justin Hoeft get a chance at a fill in spot for the full year. Didnt he have a deal with TLD KTM that took him into the start of his pro career, but then kinda gave that all up when his little brother passed out? Understandably so. Id love to see what he could do with a bike like this and knowing he has a full year on it so he could hust focus on training and not have to worry about anything else. The kid has incredible skills and i think with a year on that bike, he'll earn himself a contract extension with them.
TLD KTM honored his deal and held a spot for him, Justin returned to the team after a sabbatical following his brother's passing and ultimately took him through another year of amateurs and onto his pro debut at that year's MXGP at Glen Helen.

Craig would only go up to a 450 in outdoors if there's a vacant bike at HRC, other wise he would stay on the 250 for outdoors.

I’m pretty sure he is 15 already and will be 16 early August 2019. I’m guessing that rules him out till after Loretta’s?

I think too. It seems to me that he is born the 7th of August 2003.
