Anyone know why they would want to blow torch the frames? Couldn’t think of any reason other than uniformity of the polish/sanding marks?

Because they're getting ready to weld something to the headtube area.
Most likely explanation

It’s some sort of treatment for a type of foam they put in the frame to help with rigidity and a few other things

stabilizer mounts, sensor mounts, timers ect.. list goes on.. my bet would be for sensors. you look at most of the bikes now with out a front plate on and the amount of wiring and sensors attached is mind blowing

heating a frame up like this would make it go blue for about 3 seconds and then as it cools down, it would go back to normal.. probably even go slightly black until polish back.

this isnt a looks factor, it would be prepping to either mount an adhesive on or prepping before it was about to have something welded

They are sealing the frame so it can be used to hold fuel or coolant.

They are just preheating the aluminum before they weld. Doesn’t take much, 125-150F.

JGR likes to lay down a big fat weld over the factory weld where the head meets the tube. Obviously makes things stronger but it’s also a method to tune the rigidty of the front end without violating any of the AMA rules.

That's so factory...

Jokes aside, I wish I knew exactly what they were doing. Probably something that would make zero sense to me. Someone please explain this to me like I'm 9 years old and do skooter flips at the local skatepark

I think it could be a multitude of thing's. Looks like they are prepping to weld "something " on there......but who knows? Could be a million different things.

Yeah exactly. Plus, it's JGR, so who knows.. they could be mounting a 800whp NASCAR engine to that frame. Lol

I don't really see what is so high-tech or notable about putting a blowtorch on a frame, but that's just me.
