I don’t normally do this but these turned out pretty neat.
I came across JCR from a previous thread about tidying up the handlebar layout when you have a start button, Kill button and map button strapped to the cockpit.
I sent the guys a message a while ago and they were quick to respond with what I was after, I put the order through and received a tracking number before I could scratch my nose.
Covid caused a few delays with getting it here but it got here eventually. Postage was incredibly pricey and now I can see why. What could have been sent in a padded envelope was sent in a rather large box, a bit over kill.
For obvious reasons I asked for a blue bracket on the start button and red bracket on the killswitch. They came as ordered and the buttons have a nice firm tactile feel to them.
They’re a universal switch with some tidy work to attach a Yamaha plug to them, nothing to complain about here.
From what i gather the brackets are probably for a Honda, so they don’t quite marry up to a Yamaha clutch lever perch as nice as I’d like. And the bracket is slightly thicker with larger bolt holes than stock, so the small 8mm bolt will need to be replaced with a longer one with a larger head.
It’s the opposite problem with the start button bracket on the brake side, the bracket matches up fine but the stock bolts fit too snug where you have to use a open end spanned to tighten it, not real ideal for what’s normal a quick job with a t-bar.
So here’s a before shot
And after
I guess every little bit helps in making these a little less cramped.
Here’s what I’m really keen on testing out this weekend.
New akra system

The Shop
Me and a few of my mates have been running them on various bikes with no issues for the last year or so.
What connector bullets does it use?
There are some cheap versions with a cast aluminium housing/clamp that are rubbish- the bracket has the strength of tasty cheese and the switch assembly is a tiny micro electronics thing.
This is the ultimate set up, less foof on my handlebars
Moisture will damage both OEM and aftermarket buttons/switches.
