Good interview - where he said something - and I summarize:

“The incident, some people say it was a racing incident, but I was all the way on the left side of the jump. I have my thought about the incident, but I’ll keep those private and to myself.”

What is the general consensus on this? Has there been open blame against someone on this?

I don't think he was taken out on purpose.

It sucks because he did nothing wrong.

J Cooper rode sporadic and over his head all summer. Cooper cross jumped J Mart in a very dangerous part of the track and sadly most likely robbed J Mart of an elite career.

These wide angle lenses make things seem a little more spread out than they actually are, but it's not like Cooper jumped from one side to the other. He drifted over a couple feet. Unfortunately, I think Martin anticipated that they were going to collide and chopped the throttle. They both came up short on the jump and came together while bouncing out of it.

He took a shot at Justin Cooper when he talked about the A Mart incident earlier. Sounds like he has some hard feelings towards Cooper and his crash.

I call it a racing incident, but also understand J Marts frustration over the incident.

It looked like cooper definitely came over and even landed going slightly left. I thought Martin was going slightly right, but I think it was just his scrub that made it look that way. Either way it looked like an accident

Justin Cooper has been making some boneheaded and unnecessarily aggressive moves since he's been a pro. Not a fan of that dude. Also very monotone with not much to say in his interviews

Said it a couple of times, and I tend to agree with him.

Cooper came over a couple of feet easy and it was totally avoidable by Cooper.

Hope he makes a full recovery and kills it when he comes back.

He definitely cross jumped on him. It was probably unintentional but it was a cross jump nonetheless.

I'm not sure who is at fault, if anyone is, but the JMart deal is the reason why I cannot believe anyone defends cross jumping and claims it as completely fine. Some people claim if you're ahead you can move over all you want, which I guess you can but it's just a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt.

To me Cooper was coming to the left slightly and J Mart was travelling to the right slightly. When J Mart took off he was right next to the track markers, when he landed he was a few feet away from them. I personally see it as a racing incident. To me, cross jumping is done intentionally, I don't think Cooper realised J Mart was there

I agree with your take on it only to say Cooper was coming more than "slightly left". If you watch the video at half speed you can see Cooper break loose and squirrel out in the corner but stayed on it and was heading left. JMart was behind him and definitely tried to thread the needle to make the pass and moved right in the air as well. Trying to make passes on the first lap sometimes leads to bad judgment, I know, and shit went bad.

Other than needing emergency surgery and not getting to pick his surgeon - which he seemed salty about, implying that the first doc botched it - no. Sounds like he had an infection and second surgery.

In true Holly fashion, he chose to ask if he called Alex about giving up a position early in the season as a segway instead of asking about progress and a timeline on return.

He’s still in a turtle shell and working at a buddy’s dealership.

Seems like there’s plenty of dirt to the left of him, they jumped into each other, if you call moving over less than a foot then every rider out there cross jumps
