I met J-Bone at Matterly Basin 2006.
All the Americans, riders, staff, team personnel were so up themselves they had no time for fans, except J-Bone!
I called his name, he clicked the KX450 in to neutral, (on his way back from tech) shook my hand and asked if I was having a good time. We had a few seconds chat.

Top guy!

I'm about an hour in and its pure gold. J-Bone sure seems like one of the most genuine, honest, and hard working guys in the industry for sure.

I loved J Bone on WTS, I'll have to give this a listen. Seems like one of the nicest guys out there.

Pourcel said you could ride the bike but you couldn't race it that's why he refused...

Believe it or not Tony Alessi is the same way. After Arlington SX in 2017 my coworker/friend and his son got special passes to be able to go into the pits after the race. We met Tony in the pits, and he reminded Tony back when Mike Alessi was amateur my friend went to a race and Tony let my friend's son sit on Mike's bike and how much that meant to him. Was as nice as could be.

When J Bone tried to tell James Christian Craig was close to his talent in the whoops 😂

James has really surprised me with these podcasts. His guest episodes and race recaps are great. Really cool to see this side of him. I can’t wait until he gets Chad and Ricky on there.

James is the only rider that I have ever seen who has made other top tier factory riders look silly. He did things on that bike no one else would even touch. One of the best.

I’m only about 30 minutes in. But I can’t wait for the rest of it on my ride to the race track tomorrow

Regardless of what he did I love how much, after Guy Cooper, Reedy was my guy listening to JS have respect for him. That was really cool and heart felt.

Interesting when he signed with JGR they were supposed to be going to Suzukis but then Yamaha made an offer Coy couldn't refuse.

The WTS episode is a different animal (just as good, but different). This one is 100% about JBone and James’ career together. They go over the behind the scenes stuff on a lot of the things we talked about on here at the time. Well worth the listen.

For someone who’s probably been knocked out more than almost any racer in history, his memory of his career is outstanding. What an all time podcast.

Definitely!

I remember when he did this in the MGM(watch from about 50 seconds in).
He made it look easy too. Still amazed every time I see this vid.

This podcast is exactly what I had hoped for when James announced he was starting one. Great to just hear him and Jeremy talk about memories, get an opportunity to mend old fences a little bit and rekindle that friendship I think they clearly both new they were missing. Such a good look into one of the most successful rider / mechanic / manager relationships in moto history.

That Yamaha was garbage and ruined his career. People act like RV and Dungey just stepped up to a level he couldn’t match when suddenly Reed had his speed which was never the case

Yep he explained it in great detail.
James is a smart dude.
He had his riding down to a very complex detailed science to be able to go as fast as he did.
Was interesting hearing him talk about the front end being too stiff and then too soft to where
he couldn't anticipate what the bike would do.

That was Millville 2006 ,he lapped some great mud riders( DV12 &; Windham) that 2nd moto.
He got the holeshot and was gone.
A lot riders stalled out, slid out,got stuck and pulled off into the pit area multiple times.
RC just rode around like he was on a different track then the rest of them. His lap times were 20 seconds a lap quicker or some shit like that towards the end.

Great podcast. Definitely felt more like a walk down James' career than J-Bone, which turned out to be an amazing listen.
I feel like that pod revealed more about James' career than ANYTHING we've ever seen or heard before.

The hint from Cole about "maybe we'll get that at this table soon"....
I'm guessing RC and Reed are going to be there together soon? That will be INCREDIBLE.
